I stayed here for a conference from May 15-18. I stayed in room 2067 in the Vanderbilt wing. The room has been recently renovated and was exceptionally clean, as was the bathroom. The room is located on the ground level floor, so the view from the huge window is a pretty, landscaped hill behind the main inn rather than the... More

First this place is under renovation which tends to be very loud in the front lodge area. Also the keys are notorious for not working and if you are like us and staying in one of the far,far reaches of this place then you are literally in for a 10 minute round trip to the front desk where we found... view is stunning and original area of hotel has warm vintage character and interesting history. we have stayed there several times over the years but no longer feel it is worth the high price; better to go for the day or a meal and stay elsewhere

We arrived and were greeted warmly by the gate keeper and told to pull up to the front and we would be helped...didn't happen; in fact we brought our luggage in...not enough staff on hand. We went to the front desk and were warmly greeted, got our room cards and were on our way but the cards didn't work. Back... More

The Grove Park Inn is not at all what we had expected. This is a hotel with two completely different faces. There is the original old lodge which is quaint and interesting with smallish rooms. The horrible part are the two huge "modern" box-like wings which are basically a convention hotel setting and ambiance. Too big, too sterile and not... More

My husband and I decided, after much forethought, to spend our 30th wedding anniversary and the completion of my radiation therapy (breast cancer) at the Grove Park Inn. We'd heard about the GPI for many years from friends and relatives who'd visited the Inn or stayed there. We were really excited that our celebratory dinner would take place there. I... More

We stayed at the Grove Park Inn for the first time. The property is beautiful but the construction complete with jack-hammering and dust all day ruins the experience, To avoid the noise we made a decision to sit at the pool. We were told that to sit at the pool, use the workout area or sit in the beautiful fire... More

My wife and I attended a conference at the Grove Park Inn last week. The conference was three days but we extended our stay to six nights for a short vacation. We had no choice in where to stay and checking out previous reviews on TripAdvisor warned us what to expect. We were given a room on floor 2 of... More

The property is absolutely beautiful, service was on par for a high-end resort. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. But the rooms! I stayed in the main hall property on the 2nd floor and the room was way below average for even an average hotel. It was rather small, although when checking in the bellman said I had a "nice,... We stayed here for a conference, and while it was very convenient for that, it was extremely expensive for what was provided (eg. small microwave oven but no refrigerator in the room). It is nestled in the mountains just outside the center of Asheville, so a car (or taxi) is necessary if you want to spend time in the town;... More
