My fiancé and I were given a weekend stay at the White Gate for Christmas and we booked it right away. After all the holiday madness we were ready to get away and relax. We arrived on Friday and were greeted at the door by a very chipper young man by the name Thomas. He gave us a tour of... More

This breakfast was amazing, hosted by the owner, Ralph. A diverse, well versed and experienced group of travelers made for stimulating and enjoyable conversation. An attentive service of three delicious courses at a stunningly appointed table was enjoyed by all. This 100+ year home has been lovingly retrofited and has retained its charm. A return in spring to enjoy the... More

My 3 sisters and I just got back from staying at the Whitegate Inn in Asheville. Charming B & B and hosts and the rooms and food were equally wonderful. Frank and Ralph (the owners) are gracious hosts and the 3 course breakfast was incredible. Close enough to downtown that you could walk in good weather. Otherwise, it's a 5... More

The Inn was cozy and the suite was very "homey". Nice breakfasts that you pay for with your room. Plan to stay awhile it takes time to eat all that food. Asheville is a great place to visit and I am sure I will go back. It was beautiful with an amazing number of things to do. You won't meet... More

My husband and I stayed here for the last day of our honeymoon and everything was perfect - including how close we were to the Biltmore and downtown Asheville. We stayed in the Maya Angelou suite which included a large shower with multiple shower heads, a spa bath (only downside, the jets didn't work - no biggie), large King size... More

Whitegate is a charming BnB in Asheville. It is nicely furnished and comfortable. I was in Asheville with my 3 sisters and had a lovely 2 bedroom cottage with a kitchen. The breakfasts were outstanding. The staff was very friendly and helpful - directing us to areas of town and restaurants. Other vacationers also very friendly. The daily wine and... More

My wife and I had a delightful time. I am not the easiest to please. Frankly, we found nothing to complain about. Great setting, sparkling(and we mean that) staff, tasty original food, and we plan to return. Stayed an extra night because we enjoyed everything so much. Paul R and Suzy

This is the second year my family has stayed in the cottage at WhiteGate during July. It is a lovely property and within walking distance to downtown. Can truly say that even after 5 days, the 3 course breakfast delighted us everyday. For all you gardening buffs, you will be in heaven! Take time to enjoy the breakfast conversation. Frank,... More

So from now on I will go with the Tripadvisor ratings. This B&B is rated #24 I guess for a reason. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Happy hour was unimpressive. Hors d'oeuvre consisted of sliced brie and crackers and a glass of wine, that we had to search for someone to serve us, from the 1.5 liter bottle of cheap... More

Mark, I am very sorry to hear that you felt your stay with us was not up to your expectations. The reason your room was not cleaned was because your 'do not disturb' sign was on the door. Had you told us this on that day, we would have happily tended to your room. I would have to disagree with our... More

This was my second year staying at the WhiteGate Inn for a girl's vacation. We stayed in the Joyce Kilmer suite which was impeccably clean and well appointed. We had plenty of room for conversation, laughs and relaxation. The breakfast continues to be superb - no need for lunch - and the afternoon hospitality is delightful. The convenient location allows... More
