My wife and I were married recently and decided to take a trip to Asheville, NC, during our honeymoon. We picked the Lion and the Rose, because we haven't stayed in a bed and breakfast before, and wanted someplace that was close enough to downtown Asheville to avoid driving. The accommodations were wonderful and the owners are a delight to... more

For Mother's Day weekend I took both my mother and aunt for their first trip to Asheville and their first time staying at a Bed & Breakfast. The breakfasts were delicious with flavors that compimented so well and satisfied well into the day. The rooms were decorated beautifully and comfortably making the afternoon we had to spend inside, due to... more

My husband and I stayed at The Lion and The Rose for our mini-moon after our wedding. We researched many B&Bs before choosing this one and were very satisfied with our stay. If gourmet breakfast is part of why you choose to stay at a bed and breakfast, this is the place for you! We cannot rave enough about the... more

Jim and Linda are friendly hosts and made themselves available for any need. Locally roasted coffee is brought to the room every morning, which is such a welcome treat. Breakfast is scrumptious and you will leave the beautifully set table satisfied and content. The pantry is well stocked with snacks and freshly baked goodies. Candy dishes are filled with chocolate,... more

The main reason we stay at B&B is to interact with the innkeepers and learn about local attractions that are off the beaten path, places to eat and visit. We feel that we did not get this interaction. Otherwise, place is good. more

We spent two nights at the Lion and the Rose following a long motorcycle ride from Birmingham, AL. The Inn far exceeded our expectations - the pictures on the website were excellent, but in person the Inn was much better. The antiques are beautiful, well used and loved. We are on a low-carb diet and Jim made us fabulous breakfasts... more

We stayed here for two nights during our trip to Asheville. This is an exceptional B&B and we couldn't have been more happy w/ our stay. Hosts Jim & Linda are excellent innkeepers and Jim makes inventive breakfasts. The attention to detail and the little touches like a fully stocked guest pantry are much appreciated. Our room was very quiet as... more

Jim and Linda's bed and breakfast is a great place to spend a restful and reinvigorating vacation. They run an excellent and generous bed & breakfast inn, where my wife, our adult daughter, and I spent four wonderful days last April. Jim & Linda are gracious hosts who have thought of everything to make for a very enjoyable stay. All... more

My husband and I took a trip to North Carolina and found this beautiful B & B in Asheville. It is situated in a GREAT location for sightseeing that includes the Biltmore Estate only three miles away. and the Blue Ridge Pkwy nearby. The hosts were FABULOUS and breakfasts FANTASTIC! The property is so well maintained and the furnishings were... more

The entire house, grounds, and our room (Fannie Rice) was very clean and charming. The fresh breakfasts were exceptional.
