Applewood, as well as Nancy and Larry, were perfect! We stayed in the Corland Cottage, which was beautiful. It had everything we needed; comfy bed, nice shower, satellite TV, and a hot tub. Gorgeous decor throughout the cottage and the main house. The breakfasts were incredible also! Wonderful 3 course breakfast each morning with enough food to satisfy anyone. We... More

My husband and I recently enjoyed a trip to Asheville and staying at the Applewood Manor for 5 nights was one of the highlights of our trip. We’ve stayed at many very good B&B’s and I am confident that you could NOT find better Inn Keepers than Nancy and Larry Merrill. Since it’s a B&B, I’ll start with the bed.... More

We were very pleased with our stay here. Larry, Nancy and staff were excellent hosts. We’ve stayed at four B&Bs in the Asheville area, and this was by far our best experience. Our room was the Winesap Suite, which was on the top-most floor. King size bed and lots of room. Having two sinks is definitely a plus. The breakfast... More

This inn will not disappoint. The rooms are spotless. The house and landscaping are very well maintained. Nancy and Larry are extremely gracious and leave no stone unturned. The 3 course breakfast each morning is excellent and keeps you full until dinner. The house is conveniently located close to town for easy driving or walking. We did not hear any... More

As a Christmas gift, our children surprised us with a weekend at Applewood Manor. When we had a conflict with the reserved date in March, Nancy graciously allowed us to rebook for a weekend in May. She did however, advise that a higher rate for that weekend would require that we pay the difference. no problem. Applewood Manor was charming.... More

We love Asheville and visit often. For variety, we try various B&Bs as well as periodically staying at the Inn on Biltmore Estate. While we would recommend each place we've stayed, we would rate the Applewood Manor Inn B&B the highest. Nancy and Larry are wonderful hosts! They are "detail people," and have not overlooked one thing. Breakfast is as... More

My wife and I recently stayed at the Applewood Manor for our first visit to Asheville. It was also our first experience staying at a bed and breakfast, so we weren't quite sure what to expect. Nancy and Larry were excellent hosts, explaining the house and the accommodations quickly and thoroughly and then leaving us to our privacy. They were... More

Nancy and Larry, the innkeepers/owners are lovely people. I spoke to Nancy when making our reservations. She was so friendly and courteous but very detailed oriented. I had some special request and she was able to accommodate me. The breakfast every morning was delicious and personally made by Nancy. I know Larry likes to take credit but he's always out... More

We had such a wonderful time at the Applewood Manor Inn. Nancy and Larry are warm, gracious hosts and the home is beautiful, clean, and relaxing. Nancy's breakfasts were delicious and indulgent. We can not wait to return and will recommend it to all of our friends. We stayed in the McIntosh Room and the fireplace and bubble tub were... More

You could spend twice as much at the G**** P**** Inn, but why (unless you are a snob). The Applewood, built in 1910, is operated by a lovely couple, Larry and Nancy, who truly enjoy welcoming, feeding, and chatting with their guests in their lovely home. Go ahead - take your wine and cheese into the sitting room and play... More
