We've just returned from a three night stay, and we are so glad to have found the Princess Anne -- it is a gem. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly, accommodating and eager to help us plan our time in Asheville. They did a great job of anticipating our needs -- whether it was offering to help... A couple of things keep bringing us back to the Princess Anne. First is the staff. When we mentioned we had to be out before breakfast the next morning, they made us their excellent granola breakfasts and put them in the refrigerator in our room while we went out to dinner! The second thing is the room. Rooms plural, really.... More

My husband and I were in town looking at real estate and chose to stay at the Princess Anne based on other travelers' reviews. Its location was ideal for us. We were amazed when we arrived to find a real jewel--the staff were gracious and helpful, the amenities were fabulous, and room couldn't have been more charming. We enjoyed wine... More

This hotel by far exceeded my expectations. It is much like a quaint boutique hotel with great romantic detail, historical charm and character. This beautiful hotel has 16 rooms, making the service quite personal. It is very close to downtown Asheville that could be done by walking if desired. It is a short drive to Biltmore estate too. Our room... More

The Princess Anne Hotel exceeded our expectations on all counts. A lovely property with the character of an older building preserved without being overdone or fussy. Property includes a lovely outdoor garden. While in a mostly residential neighborhood, it was an easy walk to downtown. Included in the price with a delicious breakfast and wine and cheese hour each day.... More

I highly recommend the Princess Anne. This charming property is a cross between a B&B and hotel and has all of the benefits of both. Given the historic nature of the property, the rooms have a lot of character. Our room (a suite) was extremely comfortable, beautifully furnished with a nice mix of old and modern, andvery spacious, with a... More

This is a quaint B&B has an amazing staff and accommodations in a quiet neighborhood only 5 minutes from downtown Asheville - you can event bike there (very bike friendly city). Wine and hors d'oeuvres at 4:30 and breakfast was amazing! Plus we had mimosas while waiting for breakfast. Staff is truly friendly and helpful and care about your stay.... More

My wife and I stay at B&Bs on a fairly regular basis when we travel. That can be a variable experience, but the Princess Anne is really wonderful. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. The accommodations are always immaculate. The complimentary breakfast is really sumptuous and every afternoon at 4:30, there is complimentary wine and snacks (meat, cheese, tapinade,... More

We drove to this lovely city for a weekend get-a-way and were not disappointed. This hotel was easy to get to off the main highway and well located to explore the city of Asheville. The staff was professional and well informed. The initial greeting and check in were appropriate. The size of the two rooms was very good. The original... More

The elevator is an interesting point! The elevator is not original to the building, however it was added in the 1950s. It is regularly serviced and never gives us trouble, though its small size leaves several guests puzzled. The front desk staff is always happy to help you with a quick tutorial! Thanks for the great review and we look... More

This was our fifth visit to the Princess Anne, and I'm sure we will be back again soon - it continues to be our favorite place to stay in Asheville. We aren't tempted by the new chain hotels that keep popping up in downtown, because we love the serenity of the Princess Anne - it is close enough to downtown... More
