After a few nights staying downtown, we went up the mountain to stay in the Bittersweet Cottage where we were met by the very nice and informative owner. It's just a few minutes easy ride outside of downtown, so very easy to get in and out. The cottage was terrific with a living room with full kitchen, and a separate... More

Bittersweet Cottage is an amazing place - a cozy yet luxurious mountain retreat. It is completely private without being isolated. I was able to wander outdoors at dawn (in my pajamas!) to take photos of the sun rising over the Blue Ridge mountains and the city of Asheville below. Matthew and Stephen have seen to every possible detail, from the... More

Stayed here for a long weekend get away and loved every moment. The views were amazing as well as the accommodations. The kitchen was stocked nicely, but we we didn't really have a chance to use it due to the awesome food choices in the city. The city takes about 15 minutes to get to from the cottage and offers... We stayed in the suite for 5 nights in March and it was devine. Small but quaint and a perfect couples retreat. Five min from downtown and great access to shopping and dining. Great little kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals, cocktails included. The deck is perfect with a million dollar view and a nice little grill. Matt... More

This place is amazing. I really hate to tell people about Bittersweet but it's only fair to give credit where credit is due. Wonderful location, great hosts, comfortable room that lacked for nothing. Stayed in the suite during the first weekend of October 2014 to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Highly advise staying here. You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I stayed at the Suite on Valentine's Day weekend to celebrate my birthday. This place is just awesome. Owners, Matthew and Stephen are very welcoming and upon arrival have everything you need for a very pleasant stay. Having the breakfast items, fresh fruit, coffee, etc. available is a very nice and thoughtful touch. Location is simply beautiful,... More

My husband and I just had a 4 day excursion to beautiful Asheville, NC, and stayed at Bittersweet Cottages in the Suite. What an experience! The Suite is a perfectly appointed oasis in the mountains. The modern, yet cozy design lent itself to relaxing mornings enjoying fresh brewed coffee while gazing upon gorgeous mountain views and distant Asheville. The unique... More

My husband and I recently returned from a lovely stay in the "cottage" for three nights. This place exceeded our expectations!!!! Every last detail has been thought of. We love the hot tub during cocktail hour!!!. The location is fabulous - we stocked up on goodies at one of the local markets and hunkered down. No reason to leave. We... More

This place was amazing! We were looking for a place to reconnect and renew and we found it! From the moment you walk down the steps and hear the waterfall, to landing on the deck and seeing the amazing view, we knew we had found our slice of heaven. We spent two nights and had to add another night because... More

This is the kind of place that you almost don't want to brag about, because it offers the perfect retreat setting! If you are looking for some quiet solitude to recharge and relax, or if you are planning the perfect romantic weekend, this must be on your bucket list! Amenities such as a private hot tub, Koi pond, separate entrance... More
