I have mixed feelings about this hostel. It has a great location downtown, and is a nice looking, inviting space with a kitchen & common area, free coffee and tea all day, and they have the option of "pods" (beds with their own privacy curtain, shelves and lamp.) The pod concept is something I've only encountered at one other hostel,... More

While it was clean and beautifully presented, there are no doors on the dorms and the walls of the cubicles don't even reach the roof. These rooms all face onto the kitchen and living area. What's more, the hostel is located above a bar which plays music until late. What this means is that it is crazily hard to sleep... More

My wife and I booked a weekend in Asheville. We decided to stay at a hostel for the first time. I was a little hesitant, however we had a great time at Sweet. The staff was very welcoming, pods & restrooms really clean, and we felt secure with all the security on site. We will definitely stay again.

I loved my stay at Sweet Pea! The location is perfect - walking distance to everything you need. The communal areas feel like a home. There are plenty of clean toilets and showers. The hostel itself is very small which I loved. Yes, as mentioned in other reviews, the bar downstairs can be a little noisy at night, but nothing... More

Haven't stayed in a hostel in a few decades, but on the advice of a friend tried Sweet Peas as I was going to spending evenings in Asheville hear and there over the next month. It is a very clean and convenient locations. Three type of sleeping arrangements, private room, a pod, which is a bed with a curtain around... More

I've stayed here twice. This place is very clean and quiet. I stayed in the pods. They do have a fridge and have free coffee and some other things, but I did not use them. The location is also very good.

Beautiful historic building. However... The pods were outbin the open, with a full kitchen, and TV lounging room. It's basically one giant room. The pods instantly reminded me of my 21 years in the Navy. The Bar downstairs thumped all night long. Night staff seemed a bit bothered to answer our questions. The beds were surprisingly comfy, just noisy. Morning... More

Our little trio went as hostel virgins and truly enjoyed the experience. Our pods were cozy and private. Do grab ear buds(complimentary) even if you are a good sleeper as even the most considerate roommate can be a bit loud climbing up + down their bunks in the middle of the night. Great trip...thank you!

Sweet Peas was perfect for our trip to Asheville. We only stayed one night and booked a private room. If you have checked the prices of accomodation lately, you will see that lodging is very pricey in Asheville. Sweet Peas is a reasonable priced, clean, central lodging that we hope to return to on next year when we visit Asheville... More

I NEED TO WRITE A BOOK and I was only there 4 days. I was very apprehensive about staying in a hostel. I was in the military 40 years ago so I decided to brave it. I mean, after all, it couldn't be any worse than that and it was co-ed to boot. I was a bit concerned since I... More
