We have just returned home from a long weekend in Asheville, NC where we chose to stay at The Sourwood Inn because we enjoy the bed and breakfast atmosphere, and were intrigued by the reviews that we had read about this property. We arrived at the inn mid afternoon on a Thursday. The road up the mountain is indeed curvy,... More

The Sourwood Inn is a beautiful, comfortable inn located in a beautiful location with a very warm and knowledgable owners and staff. Our second floor room was very roomy and comfortable with a balcony that looked out over the tree line to the Blue Ridge Mountains that are not far away. With the windows open cool breezes came through the... More

At the Sourwood, there is no wi fi and no televisions in the rooms. It is just you, your loved one and the beautiful inn and surroundings. We spend too much time half aware thanks to our pervasive "connectivity-orexia". Thank you Sourwood for allowing us to just "be" in such a wonderful place. Jason and Nancy Bellush

Beautiful public areas, rooms and location. A short drive to the center of Asheville and all things fun and interesting around Asheville. A short drive to the town of Weaverville for great food at Stoney Knob restaurant, Well-Bred Bakery, and Blue Mountain Pizza, as well as art and gift shops.

We would definitely rank the Sourwood Inn at the top of our list of wonderful places to stay !!! Nat, Ann, Susan and Cindy treated us just like part of their family and made our stay that much more enjoyable. New and rustic both describe tha accommodations with thoughtful details like fireplaces in the rooms, showers with windows that overlook... More

Thank you so much for the kind words. We loved meeting you all. Didn't the rain storm at Stoney Knob make you feel as if you were camping? More

I tell everyone about this very special place. If you love the mountains and need to get away from the city hustle, this place is amazing! The food is SO good, the service is top notch and the views are excellent! We have been several times and never get tired of it! Walk the trails and breathe the mountain air!!!

We have stayed in fantastic B&Bs in Europe and domestically, and the Sourwood Inn is among the best we've visited. The inn is more beautiful than it appears on the website. All the details are right at Sourwood - beautiful rooms with real fireplaces, fantastic mountain views from the common spaces, the all the rooms and even from the tub... More

I have been to the Sourwood many times; I prefer it to the Grovepark any day. When I had conferences at the Grovepark, I would stay at the Sourwood. Here is the great list. The people are wonderful, they make you feel at home, Susan and Jeff and the rest are one step above the best. The rooms and baths... More

It may seem odd to describe an inn as both "excellent" and "a nice place"... and usually I don't... but I'll make an exception for the Sourwood. There's no AC, it's stuck way out in the woods, you could easily drive off the mountain on the way up, there's a couple of dogs roaming around the place, the gameroom resembles... More

We are actually less than 45 minutes away from Sourwood, but try to stay each year. It is a great place to recharge your batteries when "life" gets in your way. Everyone is wonderful and the food is remarkable. Go easy on the afternoon snacks if you have dinner reservations at the inn. Otherwise you will not be able to... More
