We enjoyed at this lovely historic Inn. It is well maintained with beautifully decorated rooms. It is within walking distance to the vibrant downtown. Service is impeccable with a nice selection of wines and imaginative homemade appetizers and desserts provided daily. Owners, Lori and Peter were wonderful hosts with very helpful recommendations for restaurants and activities. They paid particular attention... More

This is our 4th stay at this wonderful Inn and it never loses it's special appeal. From the beautifully furnished room to the incredible breakfasts, this Inn and it's Keepers are one of a kind. We also love that they welcome our dog with treats and affection. It's a given that we will continue to go back.

I stayed at the Black Walnut for 2 nights. It was so beautiful and relaxing. I can't say enough about how wonderful the food is! Lori and Peter were amazingly helpful and made sure I enjoyed every moment. The house is perfectly maintained. I will no doubt be staying there again in the future.

Lovely old inn with great breakfasts. Peter and Lori were very helpful with everything from restaurants to the Biltmore. The afternoon wine and snacks were great. The inn is perfectly maintained and very detail is checked. We had 5 nights there and it was a great base from which to explore the Asheville area. It is bit of a walk... More

We have stayed at many B&B's over the years from Virginia to Maine and we would rate the Black Walnut at the top in every way. Peter and Lori are concerned about every detail of the Inn itself - the gardens, the cleanliness, the upkeep, the condition of the rooms. On our two day stay we missed one of the... More

My wife and I wanted to visit the Biltmore estate and tour the Blue Ridge from a comfortable base of operations. As it turned out, the highlight of our trip was our two night stay at the Black Walnut. We have stayed at several B&Bs and I can emphatically state this little gem was the best. Owners Peter and Lori... More

My husband and I were looking for a relaxing visit to Asheville, and was it ever! We stayed for 3 nights over the Easter weekend and were so pleased with all of the accommodations! We stayed in the Ivy Garden and immensely enjoyed the huge Jacuzzi, fireplace, and King size bed waiting for us! These things were pictured and expected,... More

I recently spent 4 nights with Peter, Lori and their staff and felt like part of the family. It was a girlfriend getaway weekend and they really made our trip. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, had great advice on where to go and thought of every detail to make this B&B... More

Peter & Lori are the perfect hosts. The accomodations were nostalgic, clean, and comfortable. You musn't miss afternoon tea. You are made to feel like you are special guests of the proprietors. They are both very knowledgable about the area and its offerings. Be sure not to miss breakfast, the meal was a perfect start to the day.

We spent St. Patrick's Day weekend at the Inn. We were in Asheville to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. Everything was wonderful. If you appreciate luxurious fabrics, fine finishes, period design, attention to detail, immaculate gardens and amazing food, you cannot stay anywhere else in Asheville. If you are someone that appreciates a "boutique experience" in accommodations, you must stay... More
