It was a great place to stay for our three couples get away. We spent 3 nights there and truly enjoyed our stay. They had one of the best afternoon tee times I have ever experienced. Great food and all the wine and soda you could drink. The owners are very interesting and run a fantastic house. Our party took... More

In simple terms, we just truly enjoyed our time and are completely satisfied with the value expended and received at the Black Walnut Inn. Personally we read many of the comments within trip advisor for this Inn prior to booking (i.e. Many very good and the very few not so good). We can only confirm the sense of being welcomed... More

We stayed at the Black Walnut Inn for just one night while traveling through the area from Florida to Ohio and were very happy with the choice. The Inn is beautiful - very comfortable bed, Christmas trees in each of the guest rooms, and wonderful antiques. Peter is an amazing baker. The most delicious part of breakfast was an apricot... My boyfriend and I spent 4 wonderful days at the inn in October. Everything was perfect ! Peter was engaging every morning at the 3 course breakfast which were always amazing. We were lucky enough to spend one of the evening cocktail hours with hin as well talking about how he and Lori found all the treasures for the Inn.... More

Let me start off by saying, one of the reasons we picked this bed and breakfast is because it wasn't overkill on the victorian decorations like many of the other B&Bs/inns in Asheville. If you're looking for a beautiful, elegant inn...this is the place. We stayed in the carriage house in the beautiful Magnolia Room. The room was elegant and... More

We went to visit relatives and spend Thanksgiving in Asheville. The B&B was beautiful and immaculate with normal room clean-up and turn down service. The foyer had a plate of fresh cookies and snacks each evening with a refrigerator stocked with beverages, and hot drinks available around the clock. Peter and Lori were charming and helpful, besides serving a delectable... More

The Black Walnut Inn experience was elevated by the friendly helpfulness of the host/owners, Lori and Peter. Extremely present, Peter sits in the dining room during breakfast and chats without being intrusive. Lori is gracious and rightfully proud of her breakfast menus. During afternoon wine and refreshments, several staff members appear to visit with guests both in the parlor and... More

My wife and I spent Halloween weekend in Asheville 2014, and based on reviews chose the Black Walnut B&B for our stay. We stayed in the "turret" room. The entire property is very well kept (especially considering its over a century old) and charming. Our room was adequate and interesting, but felt a little cramped, but we are not "petite"... More

Originally, my fiancé and I only planned on staying here for one night and immediately stayed for another. We found The Black Walnut through reviews and called for a reservation. Best decision we've ever made. Lori and Peter are such welcoming people! Every morning, they were there to mingle with all of their guests, making sure every person was comfortable... More

The pros: the house is beautiful and very well maintained. Rooms were quiet. Evening hors d'oeuvres and wine were great. Location was very close to downtown Asheville (by car or taxi). The cons: for the price, you can stay at at really nice hotel with more amenities and better service. The window a/c units had been removed and it was... More
