Peter and Lori's Black Walnut B&B set the standard for excellent bed and breakfasts. The accommodations were clean and well thought out. The food was amazing - we are still raving about it. The afternoon dessert/wine sessions were always enjoyable and relaxing. The fact they would recommend and make reservations for nice restaurants was an added bonus. Really, how can... more

This was our 2nd stay and we LOVE it there. Peter and Lori are wonderful! This is such a charming Inn with beautiful antiques and comfortable beds. The breakfast is always amazing. They are former bakery owners and this is huge plus! Great tips on local restaurants too. We will be back! more

What can I say about this place - it is an absolute gem of a place and the personal attention from the owners marks it out from anything else I have experienced. The Food is beautiful and the whole place is cleaner than anything you could imagine. The rooms are simply wonderful - I had a little nosey in most... more

On the way home from a four-night stay in the GA mountains, my husband and I spent our one-year anniversary evening at the Black Walnut Inn. We were thrilled when we located the historic house on Montford Ave. Its grounds were perfectly manicured, and beautiful pansies and tulips were in abundance. The interior was no less impressive, as antique furnishings... more

This bed & breakfast is a 'must' when staying in Asheville. The room was beautifully decorated, scrupulously clean, and the breakfasts absolutely scrumptious! Our hosts were most accomodating and friendly - dispensing wonderful baked goodies along with great tips about the area - sharing with us where to go, what to see, and most importantly, where to have a great... more

My fiance and I stayed at the Black Walnut for 3 nights during our spring break. We're in our early 20s and it was a special trip for us b/c my boyfriend proposed to me! We had a great time and it was a treat to stay at such a beautiful place. We are from the Philadelphia/DC area where everything... more

I have stayed at a lot of bed and breakfasts and am very picky at the type of places I choose. The Black Walnut exceeded my expectations in every way! The pictures on the Web site do not do it justice! We stayed in the room on the bottom floor with the huge jacuzzi tub. It was so romantic to... more

The Black Walnut is a 5 star bed and breakfast all the way. The owners are extremely friendly and outgoing. We were given great direction on dinner, the Biltmore, and Asheville. I don't believe the people that have written the bad reviews have the right place. We will definitely return! more

We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Black Walnut. This B and B is simply gorgeous. It's filled with lovely antiques throughout that the owners have painstakingly collected at local auctions and antique stores. Our room was gorgeous. The bed was so soft and comfortable. The 3-course morning breakfast was superb (Tip:don't come here trying to lose a... more

We selected the Black Walnut for the opportunity for flexible dining (seating and time). I called to make reservations for a three night stay more than 30 days in advance. One of the owners informed me that he would have to relocate me to another room during the stay. I was told I could cancel with no penalty with at... more
