My husband, dog and I spent a wonderful weekend at the Black Walnut in early November 2009. We stayed in the Magnolia Room in the Carriage House because we brought our dog. The room was perfect -- beautifully decorated, super comfortable bed with wonderful bedding, and brand new bathroom. When we arrived, there were dog treats from the local dog... more

We thought that the Black Walnut Inn was very nice - breakfast was great, the house is beautiful, beds comfortable. While we would recommend it, we thought that there were some touches that could have been better (it would have been nice to have a robe and slippers and a few other things). Lori was very sweet and Peter was... more

Wonderfully kept with convivial hosts in Peter and Laurie. Mehan their superior staff person made our stay sensational. Words cannot describe the magnificent breakfast "created" masterfully by Laurie and the incredible pastry items delectably baked and served with love by Peter. This is a 5 star B&B and is absolutely worth the money. more

There are not enough superlatives to describe the Black Walnut Bed & Breakfast Inn, a jewel in the crown of a city already filled with B&B accommodations. Innkeepers Lori and Peter White have raised the bar in standards of excellence in guest services, food, and comfort. Guests will marvel at the charming and elegant turn-of-the-century mansion near downtown Asheville, while... more

This Bed and Breakfast is one of warmth, beauty, and incredible food. Peter and lauri go out of their way to make you feel welcome and every restaurant they suggested was amazing. They are chefs and bakers so the breakfast and tea in the afternoon is one from a five star hotels. I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast.............. jackie... more

What an AMAZING experience! After having read all the reviews, we knew that this was going to be worthwhile, but what we didn't expect was how stunning this property is, and how hospitable the owners, Peter and Lori, along with Megan are. You truly feel "at home". First off - the photos on the website only give a clue as... more

We just came back from a wonderful weekend trip to Asheville. We had considered staying at the Grove Park Inn but decided to try a B&B. Luckily I chose the Black Walnut Bed and Breakfast from my on-line choices. The hospitality, food and room were top notch. Lori and Peter were wonderful hosts as well as Meghan, the "concierge." We... more

The Black Walnut Bed & Breakfast Inn was everything we hoped for and more! From the minute we stepped in the door, it was obvious that the owners and staff cared about their guests. Our room was beautiful, spotless and very comfortable (and the bed was great, too). We loved the nice, extra touches in the room (chocolates, flowers, bottled... more

This Inn is lovely & in a pretty part of Asheville. We stayed in the Camelia Suite for one night & then the Magnolia Suite the next four nights - they were both nice, with very comfortable beds, & small fridges filled with water & pop which was a nice touch. We were also able to make tea & coffee... more
