This is one of the best setup and maintained car camping camps I've seen/stayed at. Extremely nice facilities including showers. Nice helpful staff. Firewood is close by and the locations are reasonably spaced apart, not on top of each other. During summer you can reserve your exact spot online.

I went here in late October for a camping trip. Unfortunately it rained for most of the trip, but I definitely want to come back there. It is a really nice campground, with heated bathrooms. The best part about it is the variety of hikes you can do from this one campground, anywhere from one miles to 20 miles. There... More

This was our first time camping with our horses and really didn't know what to expect. Some of my family had been there and rode the trails, so we knew the trails were nice. You cannot have your horses at the campsite. You must make arrangements for your horses to be boarded at the Bandy Creek Stables. It is a... More

Our family visited Big South Fork for three days during mid-August while traveling in a 25 foot, class C, RV. We began with a one night stay at Blue Heron campground in Kentucky, and then we moved to Bandy Creek campground for two days and nights. I was very impressed by the facilities which were all clean and in good... More

We recently used the Bandy Creek Campground of the Big South Fork National Park as a base camp for our trek out onto the local trails. I agree with an earlier review – there are many tight turns on the road to get to this park. When they say 10 MPH they mean it! The campground was well maintained, and... More

First of all, the road to get to Bandy Creek is insane with lots of hairpin turns. Take it slow, especially if you're in an RV. Depending on when you go you may or may not need a reservation. The entrance to the campground is staffed, so if you don't have a reservation they'll tell you what's open. Loop A... More

Just got back from a weekend in Bis South Fork and had to review. What a great campground. We stayed in Loop A which is tents only. I have stayed in roughly 30 different campgrounds around Tn and these are by far the cleanest. The bathhouses are heated, large, and well maintained. Water was hot and high pressure. The tent... My family stayed at Bandy Creek this weekend and we all loved it. We were at 32C which was conveniently located within the campground and was very well kept. The facilities were nice clean and warm. They had astronomy night on Saturday with several telescopes set up. We alk enjoyed that. We meet a very nice Park Ranger who showed... More

Lovely and out of the city, 30 minutes from nearest town! We had the place to ourselves only 3 other people here, it was great. This was in June. Good hiking trails but some you have to drive to the trail heads! Lovely and quiet, great get away! Also in Sept. they have music and story telling so we are... More

We enjoyed 10 days of bliss at Bandy Creek May 2014. We hiked every day with our dogs to outstanding rock formations. This campground is clean & spaced out, so you feel private on your own site. Bath houses are clean. Price is $22/ni w/o Sr Discount, and $11/ni with it. We stayed in Loop D. Note that some of... More
