We stayed three nights in accommodation that has stood the test of time being sturdily built and offering a good level of comfort. Everything worked and the unit was well-maintained. It was pleasant to sit out on the decking and look at the view. The restaurant had reasonably tasty food though we felt at times that the staff were under... More

This is a very remote location. The most remote National Park, the least visited and difficult to get to from almost everywhere. To visit this NP you almost have to stay overnight somewhere either the campgrounds or the lodge. The options are King size bed in the Emory Peak rooms, full size bed large room in the Casa Grande rooms... More

We visited the Big Bend NP during a trip around Texas. We stayed two nights we were surprised about this lodge. NP lodges are sometimes a big shabby. This place was different. Of course the furnitures are not very stylish and the place has some history. But everything was well maintained and clean. We enjoyed to stay here. A great... More

For the only place to stay within the Big Bend National Park, the lodge provides very comfortable, nice an clean rooms with incredible views. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Need to book well in advance as the place is almost always fully booked during the in season. We stayed 5 days.

This is the only lodging in the park, so it's expensive and hard to get a reservation if you don't book far enough out. The lodge is not in great shape. It's showing it's age. The bathrooms needed to be done over a couple of decades ago. The rooms are small and sparse. I loved it. Really, I did, even... More

Only lodging within the park. Location: In the 5,600' elevation Chisos Mtns Basin Setting: Shrangri La like setting. High beautiful greened mountains surround the basin thanks to recent rain. Physical lodge: Spread out in a number of low rise buildings. We were in Casa Grande. Room: Our room was adequately furnished with the basics. Very small bathroom. Cleaned, but showing... More

While the surroundings and location were the best for staying at Big Bend, as usual, the lodges in the national parks are over-priced. We paid $150 plus tax for a double bed room which was nice and clean, but just adequate. I would recommend for anyone going to Big Bend to stay in Marathon and drive into the park. Nice... More

Just got back from Tx. Stayed 3 days last week in the lodge. The location is gorgeous. The room furnishings (Emory peak lodge section) are fine-beds table.... Bathroom bad shape, chipped tub and sink (sink pretty bad). Bedding clean, bathroom fixtures clean. Floor FILTHY. Walked in my socks and they came up almost black! Heater vent completely covered in long... More

If this place was anywhere else I'd give it 3 stars. But it's in the middle of nowhere, and we'd booked it because we wanted a bed, shower, walls and a roof. It had all of those, also clean sheets and towels, and no bugs that we noticed, so it gets 4 stars. The bed was very small, probably only... More

The setting of this lodge just can't be beat. The rooms are nothing fancy, but adequate, just like most National Park lodge rooms. The staff was very helpful & friendly. The power did go out twice while we were there so I would highly recommend bringing flashlights (although supposedly they supply them at the front desk). Despite the lodge appearing... More
