We had stayed at Chisos Basin several years ago and planned two nights there again this month. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. There is a refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave and hair dryer but NO reliable cell phone service, TV or internet. Being incommunicado seemed like a big plus when we booked but then my motorcycle broke down... More

My husband and I stayed one night in the Chisos Mountain Lodge. The drive to the lodge is a winding road, providing great views along the way. We arrived just before sunset, and only had to walk across the parking lot to catch a sunset through The Window. The room accommodations were sufficient, not luxury, what we have come to... More

We spend 4 nightsat this motel, in the Chisos Basin at Big bend NP. The location is really fantastic for people who like the wilderness and the quietness. We had room C01 ... with all required comfort. Some people will miss the television, the telephone that are not present in the rooms. We did too the first evening but then... More

. Far from the major roads, no tv, no cell phone, microclimate, old mexican style in stone cottages, but the view, seven stars !!!, more beautiful place than Yosemite ... opportunity to see wild horses .... great place to escape from the hustle and civilization

The rooms are on the small side, no TV, cell coverage, or internet. Nice to be off the grid to enjoy the views around the lodge, and the wildlife. We got to see a small bear in the area, but the park rangers were there to make sure people didn't do anything stupid like getting too close to the bear.... More

We spent three glorious nights in cottage 104 at Chisos Mountains Lodges, and it was utterly breathtaking. OK... so the rooms are older, and the facilities not five star, but if that is what you crave, then the spectacular location would be wasted on you! The cottage has three double beds, all very comfortable, and a well equipped bathroom with good... More

Peace & Quiet to the max! Lovely, historic adobe & stone cottage with 1-foot thick walls and flagstone floors built by the CCC men in 1940. Cottage 101 is the most secluded of the 5 stone cottages but has only a view of the ravine between it and the hotel rooms with Casa Grande off to the side. All of... More

The hotel is fine. It is basic and a little tired but what sense would it make to have an outstanding hotel in this wild area? It is simply a comfortable and clean way to experience a wild part of the world that would scare away many survival experts. The restaurant was okay, wish it had been more consistent, but... More

We stayed in stone cottage 101. This turned out to be the best kept secret in The National Park System. Cottage was spacious and clean with spectacular views. Cottage 103 claims to have the best view, but all three are great. No air conditioning in the cottages, but with the cool air, we did not need it, even in mid... More
