We truly loved our stay at Big Bend and the lodge! The park is really amazing - and then not just the most famous trails but even much more the hidden gems. There is a wide variety in landscape making it really special. Also a lot of wildlife, we saw javelina's and tarrantula's. Staying in the middle of this all... More

The five stars are for two reasons. Location - if you are not camping, this is it unless you want to drive an hour plus every day you are here. View - cannot beat the view. Also I am comparing it tu other national parks resorts. Way better than others I have been. There are 4 different areas you can... More

My husband and I stayed in one of the lodge rooms because we wanted to be in middle of the park. It was rustic but clean with ample space. Everyone who works there is fabulous. The restaurant ( which is the only one in the park) is less than mediocre. The staff in the restaurant were great but the meals... More

What can you say, on the drive in, the first thing we see is a Black bear standing upright in the middle of the road. It got better from there. Go here for absolute peace and serenity as there is no tv and no wi fi. Bring a great book and enjoy the peace. Great little store that is really... More

You have 2 choices, stay outside the park and have a long drive to any of the places you want to visit (Terlingua can be a hour drive to the lodge) or stay at The Chisos Mountain Lodge where a few of the best trail heads are on the property. The lodge is pretty basic. The rooms are clean and... More

The lodge is the only accommodations in or near Big Bend. The cluster of motel-like buildings have not been upgraded nor well maintained. A small fridge, micro & coffee pot are in each room. There is no telephone or television, yet there is good Wi-Fi reception. The small balcony off the rear of the room offers spectacular views of the... More

Very clean environmental-friendly hotel with wooden furniture and nice linen. No need to talk about location, it's just perfect-you drive, park, hike and go to bed, wake up in the morning and have an option-to hike half day with comfy nap or take another long term hiking trip. The hotel shop is expensive. In fact, that was the most expensive... More

• It’s the only housing offered and it’s in a beautiful setting. • We stayed in the Casa Grande Lodge room. The rooms are old and not that spacious. There are two double beds and a mini frig. and microwave. No closet – just a nook with hangers and a shelf. The room had a nice porch out back with... More

A large part of the appeal of Big Bend National Park is its remoteness, deep in southwest Texas by the Rio Grande. But one need not give up creature comforts to enjoy this remarkable mountain scenery. The Chisos Mountain Lodge, run by the park, rests in a beautiful setting, and offers both rooms and cabins that are meticulously maintained. There... More

If you're going to stay anywhere in or near Big Bend National Park, this is the place to be. The rooms are old and not very luxurious, but they're clean and I slept like a baby. And you can't beat the location! Right in the middle of the park and a great place to navigate the entire park in a... More
