The location of this hotel is excellent. This is the only lodge in the park. It is therefore the most convenient place to discover Big Bend National Park. And this is the base of the problem. Because it is almost always fully booked, the owners make very few efforts to keep it in good shape. The rooms are basic, not... More

A group of 15 descended on the lodge the afternoon of the 16th. They were ready for us and had us each checked into our rooms in a flash. Mandy in group services was absolutely the best. The rooms were clean and quiet. The views phenomenal. The conservation efforts above and beyond. When it came time to eat, even though... More

This was our second trip to Big Bend and this time my husband and me wanted to stay inside the park. Location is everything here as most nearby accommodations are either sketchy or they were booked. I was fortunate to grab 2 cancellations over Easter for 3 consecutive nights. We thought we would have to move from one room to... More

The lodge is in a great location and has excellent views and is priced fairly. However, when compared to lodging in other national parks, this one is below average. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable enough and it seemed quiet inside the room. The balcony was nice but sometimes other guests can be loud and that ruins... More

My husband and I have stayed at the Chisos Mtn Lodge three different times (Dec, Jan, April) and hiked the numerous trails in the area. On two of our visits we experienced power outages that lasted for 12 hours and we were thankful that we had included flashlights with our supplies. We also brought a couple of cases of water... Pros: Location. No other alternatives in the basin; decent rooms at a very good price; try for a room with a balcony. Good restaurant with good beer selection and views; good staff Cons: It is national park lodging; no TV; no wireless except in one spot near restaurant entrance; restaurant manager is unbelievably bad

Chisos mountain lodge is a slightly dated lodge in an incredible location in the Big Bend National Park. We stayed here for four nights and we really enjoyed every minute. I liked the hotels design and layout. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was generally pretty good, any culinary foibles I put down to the lodges isolated location. The rooms... More

We have stayed here several times over the years. This time we brought our son and his family with us. The rooms are clean, comfortable and very adequate but not luxurious. The Chisos Basin and Big Bend National Park are breathtaking. We felt fortunate to be able to stay in this nice facility in such a special place. Reservations are... More

When you are in Big Bend NP, it is remote, rugged, and has no creature comforts. The rooms at Chisos Mountain Lodge are similar. Adequate size, not large, very small bathrooms and sinks, not much room for luggage or to hang clothes. Walls are paper thin, as we heard our neighbors having a huge fight the first night. Yet, after... More

Here is some detailed information with pictures about the room which I hope some will find useful when planning a stay at the lodge We stayed in room 107 of the Emory Peak lodges. The walls were cement blocks painted white and the floor was tiled. I never heard our neighbors except when they were walking right by the room.It... More
