Well if you want to stay in the park (and not camp) this is it! I am not sure why they can't have TV's in the hotel, I mean, there is the satellite option. We weren't in our room much but it would have been nice to fall asleep with the TV on. Having said all that it was clean... more

PLANNING YOUR TRIP: (In case you don’t read anything else) DEFINITELY plan to arrive or leave via Terlingua and Big Bend State Park (along the Rio Grande) and Presidio. We did it as a last minute change of plans and were blown away by the scenery. Have your camera charged up. Check on rain conditions—possible low water crossings. Awesome! ACCOMMODATIONS:... more

This was our seventh stay at Chisos Basin. We love Big Bend National Park, and try to get there every 1-2 years. This is an amazing park--almost hate to tell people about it, since much of the charm is that it is usually not at all crowded. This is not luxury lodging, but it is clean, the beds are comfortable... more

What a great place. I've been to Big Bend many times but we always did the primitive camping. This time we stayed at the Lodge and it was wonderful. We definitely plan on returning. Due to the time of year it was very quiet and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. I just loved how peaceful it... more

With a magnificent view like this and deer and other wildlife walking right outside your door how can you go wrong ? Pretty basic accomodations yet the Park Service has done a nice job with the updates and renovations. Comfortable, clean but no frills, no cell phone service or TV but that's kind of what it's all about there. The... more

The Lodge was a great place to stay. It's right in the heart of the park which is very convenient and saves lots of driving time. We stayed in a cute duplex cabin that was built in the 40s. Sure, the beds creaked a bit and the shower was tiny, but it had a great porch to sit on and... more

I've stayed at several National Park lodging facilities and the Chisos Mountain Lodge (I stayed at the Rio Grande Motel) is probably the nicest. The service personnel are very friendly. The room is large and clean. The location is outstanding as it is in the heart of Big Bend National Park. It's also within walking distance of the very nice... more

Can't beat the location in the heart of the Chisos Mountains. The trailhead for the Window, Emory Peak and all the other mountain trails is right by the lodge. Restaurant was one of the best I've had in a National Park and staff all around were superb (even got a couple "Howdy's"). My window looked right down the valley toward... more

We spent 3 nights here as part of our spring break vacation. I had booked our room in May of 2008. The Lodge books up fast and we were placed in a 1st floor room in a section with rooms above us. It was really loud whenever the upstairs guests walked around their rooms, sat on the balconies and talked,... more
