We have camped here more than one time each summer for several years and just love it. The campground is very barren with not much in the way of vegetation in some areas. There are no trees for shade if that is something you like. As long as the wind is coming off the ocean the mosquitoes and flies are... More

I took the family beach camping in a tent with other families. The site was excellent and we were easy walking distance to the beach and the bathrooms. I must say the bathrooms are the nicest I've seen at a state park. On a Friday, the commute from Northern VA was about 5+ hours (bad accident on 50). I can't... More

We visited Assateague State Park for four nights at the beginning of October, in our 32' Class C RV. I was able to secure the reservation way back in December of the preceding year, so we had 10 months to get excited for this trip, and it did not disappoint! Our campsite was in Loop H, which had an electric... More

It was an unique experience camping with wild horses. They are not timid. The horses will come up if you leave any sort of foods. My neighbor left a bin on the table and a garbage bag on the ground, they came and looked all over the bag and they started to open the bin with their mouth. One horse... More

We managed to book a last minute reservation for this past weekend (Oct 4) and stayed for one night. The weather was fantastic - we even went to the beach and watched the surfers for hours. Island ponies were everywhere and even visited the campground (and our tent) at night. Unfortunately some people didn't head the ranger's warnings and left... More

A great place to camp. If you don't like horses, not the place to be. The horses come to your camp site. When you're sleeping, you can hear them walk. I love it. Is a safe place to camp. KEEP THE FOOD IN A SAFE PLACE. They will have a party with your food. The bathrooms are clean compared to... More

We walked in hoping there were cancellations so that we would be able to camp, and there were! We had the choice of 2 spots... C20 and G7. Both of which were located next to bathhouses. (We later found that these 2 sites aren't even listed online) We chose G7. Loop G was far enough from the public beach, and... More

Spent three days camping here. We were in the F loop, closest to the dunes. We already plan to go back. The bath house near us was very clean and nice. Nothing bad to say about it. The staff is friendly and helpful. Sleeping under the stars was a great experience, as were visits from the horses roaming about looking... More

we stayed at the maryland state park last week and loved it! There was a steady ocean breeze which kept things cool and most days were partly cloudy to overcast. The folks there int he campground and who worked there were very friendly. We will go back next year and stay longer. We have an RV and dry-docked for serveral... More
