This is the best East Coast sea shore park I have every RVed in. We were right next to the beech and the sound of the waves. Had a great time just walking the beech with family (with Dogs). Camp sites had a lot of room with good angled spacing that give a real feeling of being out there on... More

We were hosting the campground for the month of October, this is a great park and great camping if you enjoy the solitude. You have to keep in mind when camping here it is all dry camping, no hook ups, cold showers and the toilets are not fancy. Everything is kept really clean, each camp site in the RV area... More

Best kept secret! If you never saw the horses at Asseteague put it on your bucket list, beautiful clean beach, the horses were everwhere, even join us on the beach, we even swam with them. Beautiful, quiet, and scenic good flat place to ride bicycles and explore. The Rangers and Camp Host were informative and very helpful thanks to them... More

We camped in our travel trailer for three nights. The area was well maintained. There were spickets to refill fresh water. The visitor center is a must, including the film on the wild horses. We saw the beautiful horsesmany times over the weekend . Beaches were clean.

Spent the day on the beach with hubby, two daughters, and our dog. The national park is dog friendly and the beach is beautiful! Short walk from the parking lot. And the horses join everyone on the beach. You have to stay away (no petting, etc.) and they do come up yo people's blankets and coolers to eat your food!... More

Very easy to figure out how to do- rangers were very helpful. My friend and I kayaked into Tingles Island on the Bay Side. It was about a 2.5 mile ride it- saw horseshoe crabs, horses, and I Think a stingray. It took us 1.5 hours to get in with the wind at our back and about 40lbs of gear... More

We took a break from the tourist traps and spent the day on the beach at the National Seashore. We felt like we were on an island- no hotels casting shadows, just pure nature. The beaches and ocean were perfect, and the marsh and dune trails were relaxing, unique and excellent for the whole family. Oh yeah, there are beautiful... More

This is just 2.5 hours outside the DC area, but it is a world away. We really enjoyed our stay there! Horses everywhere (watch out for all the poop), beautiful beaches. The campground had pit toilets, but were clean. The Park staff were really knowledgeable and friendly. We did not have any problem with bugs but it was incredibly windy,... More

We enjoyed a stay at the campground in early July. We tried to get an Oceanside site, but missed the boat and didn't book early enough. Luckily we had some flexibility with dates, and booked mid-week at the Bayside campgrounds. These sites don't look as "pretty" or magical as the Oceanside sites, but were well-maintained with all the camping amenities... More

There is a reason this place is basically booked solid on weekends throughout the summer. It is one of the best places this experienced and well traveled camper has ever been to. Great and unique camping, but also several other activities to keep you occupied and having fun. Did we see more horses or more piles of horse s***? The... More
