We drove into Moab via the unbelievably scenic UT-128 (a must drive), we passed lots of campgrounds along the river but as we got closer to Moab the FULL signs began appearing. We headed up to Arches to hear the same news, at the visitor centre they recommended this campground. We headed up here and were pleasantly surprised, only $10... More

Camping right above town. This is truly "NO Frills" camping but if you like getting out and seeing some terrific scenery then this is place. The camp spots are large but remember it is the sand flats and the wind blow almost all the time so sand gets everywhere. Bring your own water and plenty of it. The nice part... More

Relatively few folks know about this place but the views from the campsites are great. $10 per night and the staff are friendly and helpful. An easy way to find it is set your GPS to the Moab Community Recycling Center, then just drive on by for a couple of miles to get to the entrance.

No running water and basic pit toilets but the location and price can't be beat. A very short drive outside of town, large sites and a beautiful location. Although it gets everywhere when the wind blows, the sand at most of the sites made for a comfortable sleep. Definitely recommend staying here if you don't need a tv and a... More

Mountain biker, 4wd'er or just wanting a place to camp for a few nights - tents or self contained RVs - Sand Flats has it at 10 bucks a night. We live within 150 miles of Moab and love heading over in the spring and fall to enjoy the red-rock, slick-rock country. Sand Flats is just a few minutes east... More

We tent camped here one night. No water available so bring your own. Pit toilets are there for when nature come calling, and provide a interesting experience, pooping under the stars or sun, since they are roofless. We were "lucky" enough to set up our tents during 40 mph wind with a lot of dust. Scared we would be blown... More

This campsite is first come, first serve so we were really nervous just showing up there but there was a ton of open campsites (they have 150 sites) even though it was a Friday morning in the middle of June. Since we were worried, we considered making a reservation at a campsite in town but after seeing that you just... More

We stayed at this campsite for two nights. It's very convenient to Moab. There are A LOT of campsites but they do a great job of spreading them out so that it doesn't feel crowded. The first night was clear and beautiful, but the second night was very windy and unfortunately our site didn't give us any protection so we... More

I've spent years, decades really camping in this area both during the quiet serene times and during Jeep Safari. Great semi primitive camping. Much to see and explore. This is a mountain biking Mecca near the SlickRock Trail and in the heart of jeeping paradise. Fins N Things jeep trail weaves itself through several of the campsites. We use this... More

We camped here for three nights in the A loop of campsites. Checked in on a Monday and found plenty of open sites. Checked out all of the other loops and be careful when they post 4x4 recommended they aren't kidding. We were towing a 26 ft travel trailer and almost got it stuck in the sand checking out the...
