Having stayed at several B&Bs, our first stay at the Longacre was fairly consistent with our expectations. The house and grounds are unique and well-kept, and the large lot allows for some outdoor wandering without feeling exposed or that you're intruding on the neighbors. Having several common rooms allowed for private relaxation, which is very important to us. We arrived... more

This is a beautiful B&B and you are made to feel like a special person from the minute you walk through the door and until you leave. Dana & Renee are gracious hostesses. The home and grounds were so enjoyable as there was everything made available to you. You could never find a cleaner, beautiful place and also enjoy a... more

Four years of the bloodiest war ever fought on American soil and the healing process began in Appomattox. It can boggle the mind. You need a place to talk about what you saw and what you learned and this is the place. A wonderful Tudor style home, hosted by Dana and her mother. Comfortable, inviting and relaxing. The rooms are... more

This was a very charming bed and breakfast. The host was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. We stayed in "The Manor" room which was great. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious. We did stay on Halloween and the house next to the bed and breakfast played music until midnight but we drowned it out with the... more

Longacre is a large English-style house from the 1920s. The owners (fairly new to the property, it seems) have decorated and furnished in keeping with the 20th-century architecture. My room was a beautifully appointed attic room, somewhat apart from the other guest rooms. Large tub, but no shower (though when I went back to the website, I saw that this... more

This was a bed and breakfast home which had style, grace and charm. The new owners have worked hard over the last six months to create a friendly and welcoming establishment. Our room was huge, the bed large and all the facilities you could wish for. Outside there is a lovely terrace and garden - and early morning coffee never... more

What a beautiful little bed & breakfast. They are not lying when they say "fairytale". It felt like we were back in England at the little place we stayed in Surrey. The Innkeepers made you feel really welcome and we had a nicely appointed room. We were here visiting family that lived in Lynchburg and they recommended it so we... more

We found this B&B on the internet and the information listed was great. When we arrived it was pretty clear that there was a great deal of creative photography involved with the listing. The property was under some construction and repair and was obviously not ready for any guests. We did not feel very welcome by the owners/staff and the... more

We just returned from a wonderful weekend in historic Appomattox, and cannot give enough high marks for David and Jillian Mitchel, the innkeepers of Longacre Bed and Breakfast. Our room was beautifully maintained, clean and comfortable. We had many discussions with the innkeepers about the history of Appomattox and other sights that would be of interest to us. Their hospitality... more
