Quaint and lovely home reflects simple but charming antebellum atmosphere. Rooms provide plenty of amenities.excellent location for enjoying walking tour of the town and/or exploring nearby Civil War sites. Ample off street parking. This facility also has its own restaraunt; food is delicious! Do not skip their generous hot breakfast!

The Babcock House is a historic B&B in Appomattox, conveniently located a short drive from the Appomattox Court House National Historic Park, which is outstanding (and probably the reason you are considering the Babcock House). Pluses are the (a) on-site restaurant, which serves excellent dinners, (b) friendly staff (brought coffee to me while I was working on my computer in... More

This was a wonderful surprise. We usually stay in hotels on our trips to the States but decided to give B and B a go. This was a great experience. A wonderful house with well decorated rooms all in keeping with the houses age. We were given our privacy and left to roam. Comfy bed. Nice outdoor space. The breakfast... More

Spent a weekend here with 4 other couples. One of the rooms had a sitting room, which we used as a gathering spot. The owners were very friendly and fully engaged in their guests comfort. The House has it's own restaurant on site, with full liquor license. Food was too die for! Short walk to downtown Appomattox.

If you are planning a visit to Appomattox, this is the place to stay. Our room was large and comfortable with a Queen Bed and two sitting chairs. We loved the bathrobes, free wi-fi and complimentary beverages. Breakfast was delicious. But even better was our dinner. Delicious and well priced. Jerry is a fantastic chef. His wife Sheila was more... More

It was a pleasant stay, except for the innkeeper's unpleasant demeanor. This place could be great if the innkeeper was friendlier. Pros Location was good Room was nice - good decorations, clean Dinner was great Dinner waitress/hostess was pleasant Cons The innkeeper was rude and unwelcoming. There were several comments that did not make us feel welcome. Plus, she did... More

We did not get to stay here, though we would love to. We were on a tour of battlefields and after visiting Appomattox Courthouse, we wanted to get some lunch. We had seen good reviews of Babcock house on Yelp and so we decided to try it. We got there about 20 minutes before Sunday lunch service was to end,... More

Wanting a Bed and Breakfast close to Appomattox Court House, I chose Babcock House. We only had an overnight stay in the middle of the week. Few were staying there that night so we had a very quiet evening. The room was wonderful with all the amenities we required. Our host, Shelia, met us at the door and took us... More

Babcock house is a lovely B&B, the best I've ever stayed in. Sheila was very friendly, and gave us much good advice about things to do in town. We made reservations for dinner the first night and it was delicious. We also thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts. The room was clean, looked out at the front of the house, and we... More

We stayed at Babcock House as one stop on a week long bicycle tour. Unfortunately, it rained hard the day we arrived. The owner Sheila met us at the door with towels, let us borrow her dryer to dry out our soaked clothing and strategized with us on how to rent a truck to transport our ensemble to our next... More
