My wife and I stayed 2 nights in early October for our 25th anniversary. We stayed in the Cedar View room which has a private bath. Had a fabulous view of the Potomac River out of our bedroom windows. Our hosts, Chris and Ed were attentive and thorough in catering to our every need without being underfoot. I ordered the... More

My husband and I stayed here for only 1 night but we'd go back in a flash. The innkeeper we met, Chris, was so hospitable. The lodge is just that - wood, stone fireplaces, wide and many windows overlooking the Potamac below - lots of greens and woods on a very quiet street. In the main hallway, there's coffees, teas,... My husband and I stayed at Laurel Lodge for our 36th wedding anniversary in July. The beautifully restored house holds many interesting stories, which innkeeper Chris is happy to share with you. The house even smells like my grandmother's house, very comforting, evoking pleasant memories. Every room in the house is stately. The house itself is perched overlooking the Shenandoah... More

My husband and I stayed at Laurel Lodge for one night in August 2012. Chris was an outstanding host who is very proud of his inn (and rightfully so). We enjoyed a peaceful evening, a quiet night's rest, and a spectacular breakfast the next morning. I was tempted to stay another night but we had to get back on the... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights, from August 17 to August 19. We stay at a lot of bed and breakfasts, and found this one to be outstanding. It's clear that a lot of thought and care has been put into the decor of Laurel Lodge, both inside and out, with no detail left out. It manages... More

I feel compelled to point you to pfbird's review below titled "We're Not Worthy", because he expresses much of how my husband and I also felt staying at Laurel Lodge. Chris and Ed are two of the kindest, top-notch B&B hosts we've ever met. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. Their B&B has so... More

My husband and son stayed at the Laurel Lodge on a trip to Harper's Ferry. They were both very pleased with the lodge and the innkeepers. Both enjoyed the breakfast and the convenience to Harper's Ferry. My husband wants to go back some day with me. Looking forward to the visit.

Anywhere would be tranquil compared to New York where we had just spent four days but a couple of hours on the back porch watching fireflies in the gloaming was a true antidote. Chris and Ed were welcoming and informative. Breakfast was served at the table in tasting menu fashion - a mystery until served together with Chris's detailed description... More

What can we say except to heap more praise on Chris and Ed and their extraordinary B&B? They could write the book on running a B&B -- not just a book, but THE book. It's all about details in this early 20th Century craftsman house perched on a ridge overlooking the Potomac. From the high thread-count sheets to the rich... More

We booked the Laurel Lodge as a 40th Birthday getaway and were not disappointed. Laurel Lodge came recommended by a co-worker who couldn't stop praising the owners Chris and Ed and their amazing slice of heaven. I thought he must be exaggerating but I was wrong. Chris met us when we checked in was wonderful - you walk away truly... More
