We came to Bayfield for a long weekend and spent one night at this hotel . We liked it- we stayed in a motel room. It was quiet, clean & comfortable. Staff was friendly. Enjoyed having a patio over looking Lake Superior although we weren't at the hotel very long.

The Carriage House, which is rented through the Winfield Inn, is located in a white pine forest about 1-2 miles outside of Bayfield. It's set on a hill that overlooks Lake Superior (in the distance). Lou, the owner for this rental property, lives next door to the Carriage House and is a terrific fellow - very helpful and friendly. The... More

We stayed in #28 facing a view of the water. It was updated and fairly clean. The AC didn't seem to work though. We enjoyed our visit and flowers were very pretty. The bed was a little hard for me but the hubby was comfortable.

My wife & I stayed at the Winfield Inn in June of 2014. Nice room, if a bit small, new shower and comfortable beds. Best part was walking out the front of the room onto a patio and the gardens surrounding the place. Had happy hour on the lawn and made new friends from the adjoining rooms. Beautifully landscaped and... More

I stayed at the Winfield Inn very recently and was very pleased by all the renovations. Some of the condos have brand new furniture. I went by one of the condos and it looks like it is being completely stripped of the older furniture and being replaced with new items. I loved the condo I was in. One bedroom, full... More

We stayed in condo #24. I sat on the covered porch running the back of the condos taking in the morning sun, birds chirping and the beautiful views of Lake Superior enjoying my coffee. "Life is good". Cute condo, very friendly and accommodating staff. Short walk to the downtown area.

My sister, brother-in-law, wife and I spend a couple of weekends each summer at Bayfield. The views and gardens at Winfield Inn are beautiful. Nice deck for reading, having a beer or glass of wine. Staff is courteous and helpful. Enjoyed sailboat trip and shows at Big Top Chautauqua. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable and resident cat friendly.

Two friends and I were able to snag the last room in the motel part in Bldg 1 of the Winfield Inn over the 1 March 2014 weekend. When we arrived (very late), the hotelier was still up and kindly helped us with check-in. He also had some great recommendations for where to go and when to check out the... More

Stayed for one night at a Reitan Boatyard unit to see Apostle Island Ice Caves. The units are individually owned and rented out by Winfield. When it's not below zero, the Reitan units are walkable to everything in town. They are somewhat dated, but were in immaculate shape and a fire was already built for us on arrival. Great space... I was looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay after visiting the ice caves. This was the place. Stayed in room 16, found it clean and comfortable. The staff recommended the Friday night fish fry at Pier Plaza which topped off the evening. I would recommend the Winnfield Inn to anyone looking for a place to stay.
