This is our 3rd visit to the Grey Oak Guest House (my 4th actually). We love the large room with separate sitting room. Quite a nice view of Lake Superior. We open the windows to get the lake breeze, but then turn on the window AC at night. It is very quiet, on 7th St, not much traffic. Only 2 guest rooms, so there is not a lot of coming & going. Wonderful front porch with wicker rocking chairs to enjoy the lake view. We usually ride our tandem bicycle from Duluth, so we are without transportation. Susan even loaned us their car one time so we could get to Big Top Chautauqua.
We like the breakfast delivered upstairs on a tray -- fresh fruit, a muffin, sweet bread, juice, coffee, cereal, milk.
The decor is very charming and the colors are calming. (My opinion.) Both guest rooms (which are upstairs) have a bathtub with shower.

The Grey Oak Guest House is a comfortable, private bed and breakfast in Bayfield. We stayed in Room 2, which is the smaller of the two rooms available for guests. However, the room was surprisingly large, with a beautiful 4 poster bed, sitting area with fireplace and two large chairs, and a very large well appointed bathroom. The room had many windows to allow us to enjoy the summer Bayfield breezes. However, the room did have an air conditioner in case of warm temperatures. Breakfast was delivered on a tray in the morning and was beautifully presented. We enjoyed the strudel, breakfast bread, fresh berry salad, orange juice, and coffee. The property is just a few blocks away from downtown in a nice residential area. Additionally, it has a beautiful wrap-around porch with views of the lake -- a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee and a good book. Like many old homes, this guest house has some steep stairs so those with disabilities should probably find other accomodations... more
