Stayed there with my children in the General's Quarters. It was very nice. Beautiful room and very private. Inn is situated in a premium location. Breakfast was amazing. Owners can really see the details. Thank you.

While we generally like to sample new places to stay, we make a point of staying at this wonderful place each year when we come to the Contemporary American Theater Festival in Shepherdstown (3 miles away). Joanne and Paul are excellent hosts, very knowledgeable about the region, its history, current developments, the Civil War-- and much more! They can suggest... More

The Inn is the kind of place I picture when I think 'bed & breakfast'. Wooden floors, period furnishings, and a wonderful ambiance made this an excellent choice. The Inn is located on Main Street in Sharpsburg and is minutes away from the battlefield park. The owner is very helpful in providing directions, bicycles, and information on nearby restaurants. Soft... More

Charming B&B to stay in while visiting Civil War battlefield Antietam. Hosts were gracious and helpful and the homemade breakfasts was outstanding.

We stay here every year when we come to the Contemporary American Theater Festival. The Inn is beautiful, comfortable and in a great location. Joanne and Paul are great hosts and breakfast is always delicious. If you're lucky you may get peach cobbler from peaches right off the tree in the back yard.

Wonderful stay. Owners were very friendly and accomodating. They knew the quality of all the local restaurants. They also guided us to some local historical spots not associated with the Antietam Battlefield. The best was the breakfast of peach pancakes made from peaches picked fresh from their tree in the back yard.

We stayed in the Antietam Room. It was lovely. The bed and pillows were perfect. The setting with our own deck was a perfect way to relax at the end the day. Breakfast was a great treat and a good way to start the day before heading out to the Battlefield. The location was convenient and easy access to quaint... More

We stayed in the Generals Quarters, nice, well maintained. Breakfast in am was OK but not high quality. Boring quiche and some fruit and toast. need to make it with more flair and color I thought. Since it is a bed and breakfast, I expected more for breakfast.!!!!

We had a lovely and spacious 2nd floor room with its own outdoor balcony. Breakfast was a true feast, and being able to get that first cup of coffee starting at 7am is a real blessing for us early risers. The only suggestion we would make would be, if feasible, to install a ceiling fan on the balcony. It's such... More

1. During breakfast make sure Joanne tells the story of the house's history. 2. If you travel from Sharpsburg to Harpers Ferry, be sure to ask Joanne for her printed travel directions down Harpers Ferry Road - don't take the freeway! Harpers Ferry Road is much more scenic and enjoyable if your a history enthusiast! 3. Have dinner across the... More
