A warm welcome by our hosts, comfortable, tastefully decorated, very clean rooms, comfortable beds, plenty of heat and blankets to keep the November chill at bay, warm cookies, all the little details attended to, even fresh flowers in November in each room, excellent food and being from NYC we are particular. The hosts were friendly and helpful but not overbearing... More

We stayed one night at the top end of our Skyline Drive trip, arriving via Harper's Ferry. Difficult to add to the many previous good reviews of this B&B; the hosts local knowledge, friendliness, the communal breakfast and the history of the rooms were all first class. We were lucky enough to have a military historian as one of the... More

Looking for a great place to stay near the Antietam battlefield: then look no further than the Jacob Rohrbach Inn. The Inn is very convenient to the battlefield (about a two minute drive to the visitors center). We had a lovely room that was immaculately clean and Joann was a warm and welcoming hostess. She also helped us with a... More

Very friendly host and hostess. The room was wonderful. We had a sitting area with a TV and a porch to ourselves. I would love to come in warmer weather to enjoy the porch more. The town of Sharpsburg is a gem of a place. Historic buildings, civil war history alleys to stroll down. I love alleys. We have been... More

The Jacob Rohrbach Inn, located in downtown Sharpsburg, MD, is near the Antietam battlefield and the C&O Canal. Our large, comfortable room offered a pleasant stay, but the breakfast and our hostess' history of the hotel and region was the real delight.

Lovely period house with antique furniture etc. The hosts were delightful, with anecdotes of the part the house played in the history of the area. The communal breakfast is a treat with all guests having a great time swapping stories and tales.

We spent two days (not long enough) with Joanne and Paul while touring the battlefield, Harper's Ferry and surrounding beautiful countryside. My wife and I splurged by reserving the Inn's General's Quarters, the delightfully restored and decorated old summer kitchen just behind the main inn. Joanne and Paul are laid-back and gracious hosts, and can provide a wealth of information... More

Joanne was warm and knowledgeable about Sharpsburg history and places to eat. There is an excellent room for young children which is separate from the rest of the inn. The breakfast was delicious. The room comfortable. I highly recommend it.

We stayed here on an early Fall evening as we cycled our way south on the C&O Canal trail. The innkeeper provided us easy to follow directions from the bike trail and excellent and secure garage accommodations for our bikes, which we really appreciated. We stayed in the Harper's Ferry room which included a separate, small sitting area with TV... More

Thank you for your comments, we are glad you enjoyed your visit. We make continual improvements to the Inn and were surprised that we had overlooked upgrading those shower heads. Thank you for bringing it to our attention, they have all been replaced. More

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this bed and breakfast. We were able to get a ground floor room with separate entrance which gave us a real sense of privacy. The hostess and host were engaging and knowledgeable (and breakfast was fantastic). We especially enjoyed sitting around a large dining room table and swapping stories with Civil War... More
