The Inn was decorated beautifully. Lots of historic information available and a host that is also very knowledgeable about Antietam and the Civil War. Chris and Amy were also helpful with information on bike rentals and other local tips. The Inn is close to the Potomac rIver, the C&O trail and another quaint town-Sheperdstown. Lots to do in a quiet... More

We have visited the Inn 4 times -but only once since the change in ownership. The change was noticeable. Example: We arrived about 90 minutes before official check-in time. Upon entering the building we were met by a man who upon hearing that we had a reservation for The General's Quarters (most expensive accommodations ) were told to leave and... More

Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to write a review. We are sorry that your stay at the Inn fell short of your expectations, that is always disappointing, and we apologize. When you arrived almost two hours before check in, Chris was in the middle of an unexpected water issue. Forgetting to introduce himself during your initial... More

If you are into the Civil War this is the place for you. The Inn is located in Sharpsburg, MD near the Antietam battlefield and a short distance from Harper's Ferry, WVA. The owners have restored the Inn lovingly and are very helpful. An excellent breakfast was offered. The Inn is not far from I-70 which means it is easily... More

There were two highlights for us: 1) Accommodations. 2) The innkeepers: Chris & Amy. 1) We visited a few weeks back in November. We are regular B&B people so we usually try to change things up a bit. The idea of a private, stand alone building was appealing so we chose the General's Quarters. Its spacious to say the least.... More

Clean, comfortable, well furnished. Small, but adequate bathroom. The breakfast was first-rate: fresh baked scone, fresh berries and an oven-baked omelet. Chris, our host, was engaging and helpful. We would definitely return to this inn.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and found breakfast to be 'first-rate". While we can't change the footprint of that bathroom, it is getting completely remodeled to better utilize the space. We hope to see you back next year. ~ Chris & Amy More

My wife arrived late and Chris was ready with a warm greeting. He directed us to a nice restaurant a few blocks from the Inn. Very much enjoyed our stay in the General's Suite-well appointed and spotless, very nice bed, porch and ample off street parking. Chris and Amy are justifiably proud of the very tasty and bountiful breakfast. All guests... More
