We are Dutch tourists from Amsterdam and had a very lovely time (five days) in the Jacob Rohrbach Inn thanks to the great hospitality of Joanne and Paul. The huge room was nice and clean and the breakfast very good. Sharpsburg is situated very close to interesting places.

We were only stopping for one night as we were visiting the Antietam Battlefield. Stayed in the most comfortable Captain's Quarters complete with all modern conveniences including tub/shower, air conditioning, WIFI, cable, and a large porch overlooking the beautiful gardens. Our hosts could not be more friendly, and Joanne is also a great cook. Breakfast consisted of juices, coffee or tea,... More

Lovely old house in a nice location in a very pleasant small town. Joanne and Paul were excellent hosts who provided lovely breakfasts each morning. Well placed for visits to Antietam and Joanne had arranged a guide for us in advance which was very helpful. The guide, Bob Murphy, was excellent and we had a great morning on the battlefield.... The squeaky bed was a very easy fix. I wish you had mentioned it after the first night, I could have taken care of it immediately. Anyway thanks for making us aware of it and saving other guests from a creaky night. All the best, Paul. More

Stayed at the Jacob Rorhbach last weekend to see the Antietam park. Joanne and Paul were pleasant hosts for this historic B&B. Great location in the town too. Stayed in the Thomas Jackson room in the original section of this 1800's home. Beautiful, huge room but with recently added bath which left a lot to be desired. Breakfasts were outstanding... More

This was a beautiful historic home with many period antiques. The grounds were expansive and nicely groomed and the rooms were spacious and clean. Our hostess served a delicious breakfast in a lovely dining room and we had lively conversation with 3 other couples that were staying at the Inn. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend... More

Everything was top notch here: large, well-appointed, well-maintained room, in vintage, historic home. Gracious, knowledgable hostess (interesting civil war tidbits and two spot-on restaurant recommendations). Ample parking and just two/three minutes from Antietam battlefield. Recommend highly without reservation .

The individual attention excellent. Breakfast was very good and Joanne was an excellent sourse of travel information to both the Antietam battlefield and Harpers Ferry. She personalized our visit and we were always comfortable and felt at home.

A great location within a mile of the visitor center. They set us up with a guide who took us around the battlefield. Breakfasts were great and my wife is a vegan and they made special meals for her. Rooms were spacious and clean. I would highly recommend.

Was doing a trip round ACW sites. At Sharpsburg (Antietam)had a great night here. Was well looked after in very nice ground floor room. It over looked the main road but traffic noise vanished and I had a very comfortable night's sleep. Very pleasant breakfast while Joanne, the owner, explained history of the house and bits about the area. If... More
