We stopped here on our way to Big Bend National Park. We got in very late, the parking area is well lit and felt very safe. Clean rooms and more affordable than the local chain motels on hwy 90. I don't always stay in Del Rio (never) but when I do, I stay at the Whispering Palms Inn.

We were greeted warmly by Sam after a long day on the road. The room was clean and comfortable, and we had everything we needed. We had our large well-behaved shepherd mix and they welcomed him as well. There was a festive children's birthday party at the pool. The breakfast selection the next morning was thoughtful and more than most... More

Our company does business across the boarder and we do recommendations to our clients for lodging, dining, etc. I found the newly remodeled Inn to be comfortable, modern, clean, fresh and safe. Bob, the owner, is an outstanding host to all his guests. Do not hesitate to stay at this unassuming lodge.

This is a simple motel, with a tiny swimming pool but big rooms. The decoration is so-so and the place inside the rooms is not well organised. It's just as runner staff has done it them self. The breakfast is chip, with crackers and unknown branded staff. But the staff is kind and the place have a vintage taste and... More

This was our second stay at the inn and amazingly the owner remembered us. We have a chihuahua and he didn't even charge us a pet fee. The only negative is the breakfast, cereal and prepackaged muffins but there is a large selection. A little protein would be nice, boiled egg maybe? And better coffee condiments, otherwise this place is... More

This hotels offers very good value if you are passing through Del Rio. Located on the main drag (Route 90 or Veterans Highway), it is convenient. This family owned and operated hotel has undergone a recent remodeling. The rooms are spacious and clean. There is a free breakfast, but it is modest, with limited choices. Ok if you are in... More

I stayed for only 1 night, but should have stayed longer. Friendly staff, very friendly owner that goes out of his way to help. Hotel has a good location, competitive pricing, close to restaurants and bars. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, with plenty of parking. One of the few hotels I'd recommend from my recent trip.

Good room and in good location. Met my needs but only thing that I didn't like was the fact that the owner seemed a little rude and it was very loud at night. Apparently someone at the property allows parties to happen. Would be nice if I partied and wanted to stay up but if you are exhausted and have... More

Being recently retired, we are always looking for a bargain, so we took a chance on the Whispering Palms. Our arrival was after dark. We were greeted by a very polite, handsome young man who offered us complimentary bottled water. We entered the parking area which was almost totally enclosed, making me feel very safe. The room was newly furnished... More

I picked the Whispering Palms because it was the cheapest place to stay I could find on the Internet. I didn't have high expectations, but it met my needs. Some things were below average - the breakfast was not worth stopping for - but my room had been refurbished recently and the mattress was solid, the bathroom nicely kitted out.... More
