Stayed at La Luna for three nights whilst we explored San Francisco. Conveniently sited on Lombard with all important free off street parking and good access to public transport. Friendly staff and rooms good size, clean but no fridge or bath. Breakfast ok; toast and cereal plus coffee and juice. Older style motel but offers everything you need at a... More

When we arrived after a very long drive the guy on reception informed us our room had been given to someone else. He promised us a good room in a good hotel nearby for the night. The hotel we were sent to was nothing much more than a slum - see review of Super 8 Motel. The following day after... More

Neither clean nor tidy, rooms rather to be called cages. Terribly loud- 8 dB more would require ear protection. Staff incompetent and not friendly. Hospitality: zero! Never again. For that amount of money you will find better places all over SF. There are Motels next door: try those.

Clean, complimentary breakfast, private parking, kind receptionists, easy to reach even with public transport. Strategic to city tour and very near to Chestnut street where the nightlife, restaurant and pubs are. You just have to walk down Divisadero and reach the bay, Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf and boat to Alcatraz and The Golden Gate. Cheap and useful.

The rooms are clean which is all we were looking for. The rooms are old fashioned and right on the main road making it very noisy. The door didn't seem very sturdy so we kept a chair wedged infront of it. Reception staff were helpful, booking taxis for us when we needed it. Breakfast was so bad it was funny.... More

We were in San Fran for a few days for our 5 yr anniv and did the city bus tour and Alcatraz. We stayed here and were very comfortable!! It was very close to the City bus tour stop and the Golden gate bridge. It even had a Walgreens across the street which was convenient. The staff was very friendly... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
