My sister and I traveled up the California coast line and this was our last and least favorite hotel that we stayed in... Pros: great location, free parking, front desk staff very nice/helpful, clean bedding and bathroom, comfortable bed, ok enough breakfast (very small tho), free wifi Cons: Traffic noise from the street was very loud, heard garbage truck at... This hotel was very nice. It surpassed my expectations and the front dest staff was above and beyond. I will suggest this hotel to others AND stay there again, whenever I am in San Francisco! Thank You!!

The rooms were old. The beds were fine, but the carpets were filthy. As stated, it was on busy road that had pluses and minuses. Would pay more for a better hotel. Did not use free breakfast as it was minimal. Would not stay there again.

Free parking was a definite plus. We stayed for 3 nights and didn't move the car once. The location is ok. It was close to Chestnut Street that is full of great places to eat and drink and the waterfront wasn't too far to walk to. The accommodation itself covered the very basics. The bathroom was tiny and the shower... More

La Luna was definitely a good place to stay. It's close enough to pretty much everything you'd want to see in a short trip to San Francisco. And whatever wasn't nearby, you could easily Uber or take public transportation to. The free parking was great. Upon checking in, front desk staff wasn't very welcoming, but the man who checked us... Lombard street is full of great budget hotels. This one seems to have slipped. Yes there is free parking which is great but the free breakfast is just awful. The rooms are rather tired and the bed linens not great. If you risk walking around barefoot the carpet is tacky to the touch so not nice. The bathrooms function but... More

Good location, not near the tourist trap, close to good restaurants on Chesnut Street, and walking distance to the Marina and Palace Of Fine Arts. Clean, And spacious rooms, ( we had 2 large teenager boys) but bests of all fantastic staff of reception, friendly and helpful.. A short taxi ride to Fishermans wharf, and Coit Tower. Would certainly stay... More

Room painted nice however the light fixtures were rusty or molding and there was a slight oder in the room. The shades don't keep out all the lights and the bottom of the door jam was broken so light came into the room that way too. Bed and pillows were uncomfortable, old box tv, and loud AC unit and the... More

The location of the motel is great as it allows you easy access by bus to the wharfs etc and walking distance to the Golden Gate bridge. The motel is not really anything special, it's the same as just about most other $50 hotels in the rest of the US, it only costs $120 a night because its San Francisco.... More

This well located, older but well maintained property was just right for me and my wife. We selected this site for its proximity to the pier where our event was being held. just an $8 taxi ride and we were at the pier where the Bay Area Brew Fest was being held. Property is well maintained. Desk service is helpful... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
