Very nice start of our road trip with three nights in this very nice boutique hotel. As a Hitchcock fan, I loved the surpise encounter with the iconic staircase. Rooms are comfortable and spacious: nice bathroom (great shower!), but wifi and coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice (they are in the lobby) Great location near Chinatown... The hotel is in a good location - convenience store and several restaurant options nearby. The staff were warm and friendly. Our family room with 2 doubles was nice and clean. Unfortunately, room 212 has paper thin walls so we didn't get the best sleep - we could hear our neighbours TV blaring through the night.

My daughter and I spent 2 nights at HV and had a great stay. Sean was extremely friendly and very helpful. The complimentary tea and coffee in the mornings was very much appreciated, as was the afternoon/early evening wine! Very eclectic and hip hotel. Was a bit concerned when found out there was no a/c, but honestly the fan worked... More

This hotel is beautifully decorated and I love that it has a backstory. I recommend watching Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo movie before your stay or just to watch it if you haven't. The guy that checked us in and who we saw most of the time at the front desk was very attentive and was always making small talk with us.... More

I was looking forward to giving this hotel an amazing review, but I can't our last night was the worst! I'll start with the good. Good: Check-in we were greeted by Sean. He has his customer service skills down! He was always friendly and willing to help. He told us how to work the shower. This saves people time so... More

Stayed at the Vertigo for 5 nights during our trip through california. The staff is very friendly and helped us with everything. Parking is really expensive (45$/night) but when we checked in they told us that there is another oppertunity to park our car 2 blocks away. There it cost 25$ per night. The room was a little bit small... More

We stayed here for 4 nights, parking is crazy expensive so we parked in a parking garage just up the block. The room was small, we used the sink and the minute we did hair started coming out from the drain, it was disgusting. The hotel itself is nice but they really need to renovate the pipes on our last... More

This hotel has a lot of character due to the Hitchcock/Vertigo theme and history. The staff were exceptionally courteous. My GF and I checked in at around 5:30 PM on a Friday, just in time to enjoy complimentary wine in the lobby. The location was convenient for walking to Union Square and restaurants. I recommend The Golden Cup accross the... More

We arrived in the late afternoon in time for wine tasting. The lobby is lovely and we enjoyed our arrival. The room was comfortable enough and the bathroom was a little small, but nice and efficient. There was no air conditioning, but we opened our window one evening and it was fine. A bit cool during June anyway. It can... More

I saw some of the bad reviews and at first was hesitant to stay at this hotel. Those reviewers are either really spoiled or delusional, because this hotel was fantastic! The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were newly renovated, impeccably clean and very comfortable. The neighborhood is fine, however if you don't know where you're going you can... More
