Stayed there for 3 nights, loved it! The location is great, very close to Union square, and a reasonable walking distance from Fisherman's Wharf (just take Hyde all the way up). There's a Trader Joe's and CVS about 2 block away if you're health-conscious and need to have at least a few "greek yogurt and fresh veggies" kind of snacks/meals.... More

I had a travel voucher from Virgin America, not a substantial one, so I booked a trip to a city close to Los Angeles. I was told about Hotel Vertigo by a friend, and decided to give it a try. It was a pleasant experience all around! It's old and small, but not tiny. It's been refurbished and is in... More

Room was WAY overpriced for what it is. It is one of those old building they put a fresh coat of paint on, add some orange pillows and play "cool" music and try to be a W W. The staff was friendly enough. Bed was uncomfortable and small. Room was kind of beat up. The bathroom was completely redone which... More

Very cute hotel - the decor was interesting and the rooms were generally very clean - not huge, but decent sized for the price. The shower is big though, which is great. The staff was also friendly and helpful. My biggest issues were: 1) the location is ok, not terrific. I only had a day to do sightseeing, and it... More

Luis, Sean and the rest of his staff did an extraordinary work to accommodate me and my seven fellow travelers - even though we arrived 1 day late for our reservations. This is our second stay at Hotel Vertigo, and besides the extraordinary service-minded staff, Hotel Vertigo is a clean, affordable hotel with a super-location. I will not hesitate to... More

I stayed at the Hotel Vertigo on a business trip in November. I could tell the place had recently been remodeled and quickly - there were lots of little finishing details that had been overlooked. However, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the staff was friendly. They had coffee available in the mornings and there is a... More

The hotel is in a decent location. The room was fine for the time of year. I am glad it wasn't too cold, since the heater was dated and had one setting. They had a fitness center and the wifi was good. I just thought the price was a little high for what you got, but then again it is... More

Stayed there last week when the city was completely booked due to the annual JP Morgan Healthcare conference. A funky little place with minimal amenities (no bar, restaurant, or fitness room). But the room was clean and comfortable. Also very quiet with heavy curtains and a comfortable bed, which made for a great sleep. Although the bathroom was not huge,... More

Dear Stempster, Thank you for sharing your experience. We appreciate your compliments naming the clean and comfortable rooms. I will also pass along your constructive criticism to our staff. We do have fitness room, so your feedback is disappointing, you should have been advised upon arrival of it. Again, thank you for your review and for staying with us and... More

We checked in this hotel for a weekend getaway from the hustle & bustle of Vegas. We truly enjoyed our stay here! It is a little off the beaten path but the value far outweighs that. The rooms ate trendy modern decor & much more spacious than anticipated for a hotel in SFO. I would highly recommend this hotel for... More

We booked this hotel for the location and value for price (New Years Eve rates can be outrageous). Hotel Vertigo was easy to get to, has easy valet parking, is comfortable and clean, and is close by the Masonic, Union Square, China Town, trolley stops, and a lot of great restaurants. We had a great trip and would definitely stay... More
