Great hotel, good location, don't trust any of those reviews saying that the hotel is in a dodgy area. On contrary, I prefer this location more than noisy Union Square. Union Square is barely 10 minutes walk anyway. The staff is super helpful, really cool guys helping us sort out issues with our agency booking right away. The rooms are... More

My stay here was arranged by colleagues, and this was a great place to be introduced to San Francisco: this is a quirky boutique hotel, full of charm and original touches, with great service. The bed was pretty comfortable, though noise does travel here - whether it's the chambermaids in the early morning or late night revelers coming in: so... More

Distinctive boutique and charming hotel offering nice sized rooms and contemporary furnishings. Very friendly staff too! Only downside is that the area is a bit further away from Union Square action; instead but you get experience more a neighborhood vibe.

This was one of my most favourite hotels when travelling in the USA (and I stayed in a few). I loved the unique decoration and colour scheme. The staff were super friendly and helpful and while it is in an old building you can only tell with the small elevator. It has so much charm and character of its own!... More

I found it very difficult to find a good San Fran hotel in a good location, so I resigned myself to the fact that I would need to pay a little extra to get somewhere decent in a safe and convenient location. Every hotel was expensive, so I guess it's just how things are in the city. The location was... More

Quaint, renovated hotel. No room service or in-house food, but restaurants, eateries and shops very close by. Was original hotel for the movie "Vertigo", so a fun place to stay. Rooms, TV, internet services were all great.

Stayed here for four nights while on a road trip. This is a really nice hotel in a great location. The rooms are a bit small but that seems to be the norm in San Francisco anyway (as is parking). Aside from that it was clean, quiet, nicely decorated and I barely even noticed the lack of air conditioning despite... More

This boutique hotel is close to main SF attractions. It has a elegant but old school decor. Maybe it is trying to preserve the tradition of "Vertigo". The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful. As a techy, I bring my iPad during my travel and I encounter Foli app in other hotels. Via Foli, I can read... More

This is the hotel where the Alfred Hitchcock movie was filmed. Super cool and vibrant decor. I actually did a bit of a mini photo shoot in their lobby. We stayed for one night and would come back again. It is right in Union Square so shops and restaurants are a close walk by. Our room was comfortable, sexy, and... More

Stayed for 7 nights at the Hotel Vertigo, a nice quirky boutique hotel with art-deco finishes. Room was a little overpriced for the size of it, small bed to share but bathroom and other furnishings were pleasant and practical. We were up on the 7th floor which was fairly quiet, the only real noise is the elevator going up and... More
