I can not speak to highly of this hotel. I stayed for 5 nights and the staff were more than helpful in every respect. My room was just as I expected in a city centre hotel. The location is great for all public transport very close to Powell Station for BART from the airport and the cable cars go right... More

I stayed here November 2014. We upgraded to the kids suite minus kids staying with us and loved it!!!! The suite is a corner room (all the suites are) that looks out Powell and Ellis Streets. The kids room has a king bed with a daybed (plus another bed pulls out underneath), TV plus another TV for the WII game... More

My husband and I stayed here for NYE and loved it! We stayed in suite #630 which has a large living room with wet bar, short staircase leading up to the bedroom and bathroom, there was even a small study and an outside patio. The location was central to Union Square in a bustling area which we enjoyed. The service... More

Nice hotel and a great location, centrally located in San Francisco. We stayed here for two nights and while the room was small, it was inexpensive and was a great jumping point to neighborhoods all over the city. I would stay here again.

Wonderful hotel situated right in the heart of Union Square! Lots of shops & cafés/restaurants nearby and ofcourse the tram is pretty much right outside the hotel! Hotel staff were delightful ! We celebrated our 5yr wedding anniversary on this trip and the lovely young man at check-in (I think his name started with L or T?) had forgotten to... More

The hotel is pretty nice and clean, the staff is very friendly and thelocation is great. They have complementary coffee on morning and wine in the afternoon. Lots of restaurants, stores and bars around. The only bad thing is that their Queen Standar Room actually has a full bed instead of queen. So I felt cheated on that part.

Stayed at this hotel because of its convenient location: right downtown, steps away from any kind of public transportation and very close to the Moscone center where the conference I was attending was at. The building is pretty old, but well maintained and the room was just right. Pros: Every evening, at the lobby, there is live awesome music and... More

It's a busy corner so getting a cab right at the door can be difficult, but otherwise it's an excellent location - within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and attractions - including trolley and BART stops. It's a historic building, but the hotel has been recently updated with a very unique and trendy interior design! We were upgraded to a... More

This is a boutique, small hotel. The property is well-maintained, with a modern decor in a older building that has clearly been renovated. The rooms are comfortable, well equipped with bathroom that while on the side of being small, are good enough with decent size in the shower and a good quality shower head (I can't over-emphasize how a good... We stayed with Hotel Union Square for 5 days during November 2014 for my boyfriends birthday and had an amazing experience! The hotel is located at the best possible place.
