Stayed here for several days after drivig the PCH from LA. Great location right next to the Presidio and within walking distance of lots of restaurants and the Wharf. Great sandwich and liquor store right next door and a pizza by the slice place as well. The breakfast provided is pretty basic but sufficient (no waffles). The real bonus is... More

Our 3rd visit. Raymond the Concierge (yes, this motel has a concierge) is a super nice & helpful guy. Very knowledgeable about the City ... where to go, where to eat (he's been to over 600 eateries), directions, bus routes, etc. Rooms are tight but clean. Several rooms were experiencing shower head leaks ...I hope they fix soon. Parking is... More

I choose this hotel because of nice reviews at TripAdvisor. But I was sceptical. It's a far from downtown and it seemed expensive. From outside the hotel looks old and a bit tired. But it was very good. Free parking and a free basic breakfast. The staff was really, really helpful and nice. It was easy to go by bus... More

Years ago I'd sworn off Travelodge forever, but given high prices and low availability, I reconsidered (after great tripadvisor reviews) for this event and I'm glad I did. Front desk guy was chatty and friendly, the room was small (average by SFO standards) but exceptionally nice and clean down to the smallest details. Neighborhood is great, very walkable and easy... Weeks before our stay we asked the concierge (who had always been very helpful in past stays) if we could get a certain room. He assured us there would be no problem. Except when we arrived they had rented the room to someone else for the duration of our stay. The concierge was off, conveniently, for the time of this... More

Property is charmingly old. The rooms are small, but everything is clean. The location is superb. Parking could be an issue but we did not experience a problem. The staff is EXCELLENT and will do anything to make your stay a pleasant experience.

The San Francisco Travelodge is an older motel that has been located in the same wonderful neighborhood for many years. It is simple, unpretentious, and basic. The rooms are average, and the furnishings typical of a Travelodge. Parking is available, buses to downtown stop only steps away, and the prices, for SF, are moderate. A good alternative to the very... More

Just moved to SF and stayed at the Presidio Travelodge while we were hunting for an apartment. We needed a hotel in the city area and we chose a lower cost hotel over staying at a more expensive place because we knew that we might be in a hotel for a long period of time while we apartment hunted. This... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
