The rooms are spacious and clean. The price was not too high for San Francisco (although we were there in January and in the middle of the week) and the free parking is convenient. The staff is not very helpful and the wifi is slow. Also, stay in the rooms away from Lombard. The street is busy all night.

Nothing fancy, but a good place to stay in San Francisco. The location is great. There is a fabulous cafe next door, Home Plate. Great for breakfast and lunch. Rooms were clean. The bathrooms are newly updated. Would definitely stay there again.

The room was clean and relatively quiet. It is on Lombard Street, but our room was in the back, off the street, so noise was minimal. The only issue we had with outside noise was when people checked into the room above us, it was very easy to hear their footsteps, so request a second floor room and tread softly!... More

The room is ok and the parking is convenient. It is really overpriced but this is San Francisco. The real problem is that they advertise free Wi-Fi (which I guess we pay for) and it doesn't work. Worst again, the staff isn't helpful at all and unable to solve our problem or even pretend to care about it. Avoid this... More

since they were fully booked at the time we were visiting, we got a room under the stairs in a corner next to a garbage place. Anyway have to say it was quiet and there was no smell. The room was very basic, good just to sleepover a but for what else should u be looking in a city like... More

We reluctantly stayed at the Travelodge Golden Gate San Francisco last week. Admittedly there was a large conference on it the city so accommodation even booking one month in advance was scarce. However, the Travelodge charged us a rate equivalent to a 4-5 star hotel and did not deliver on any level. The wifi did not work on any of... More

Confused by prior reviews as this motel was great. Feels like our room had just been renovated - paint perfect, new bathroom, good bed, clean carpet. No noise and yet we were right on the 101. Great area to stay. Some really nice cafés and restaurants one street back with plenty of transport to Union Sq area. Would happily recommend.

We did not at all have a positive experience in this motel. The floor carpet was very dirty, and the rest of the room could also have been cleaner. We had a room on the ground floor, and it was quite noisy at night, mostly from traffic on the nearby road but also on our night there was noise from... More

Very poor quality : floor extremely dirty, wifi wery slow and working only 50% of the time, very noisy... Only advantage is the parking, but it's very overpriced... For much less, you can get a hotel without parking in SF and pay for parking separately.

Nothing Spectacular..clean rooms, overpriced like all San Francisco hotels. If this was Seattle this hotel would be $59.99. We chose this hotel because of the free parking which was a treat. No one gives free parking in SF... They provide no breakfast or food at all, only one pop vending machine. The parking was tight, BUT free!! It was on... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
