It's a motel. It's on a busy street. There is going to be noise. I didn't have a problem with the traffic. I slept through it all. The walls are on the the thin side so you can hear other people talking in the next room. Breakfast was average - fruit and pastries - but it was free and kept... More

The hotel is a 10mins walk from Fishermans Wharf and other attractions, and a 45min walk from Union Square. The rooms were good, the bed (king) comfy with a lot of pillows - I counted 10 of them! Poor breakfast options :/

No special motel in any way, but there is parking available and the location is quite convenient for visiting the centre and the Golden Gate Bridge. Price range is steep all over SF and this motel was a decent option. Parking is very narrow, but comes in handy on a road trip. The room was spacious and clean, so no... More

We stayed at this motel for 2 nights in early October during our ' roadtrip'. The property was easy to find and whilst of an older style it was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful, We were in a ground floor room and had no problems with noise (maybe we were lucky, but the earplugs I... Stayed here for nearly a week on our trip to San Francisco. We had a room far away from the road on the 1st floor which was spacious and quite with all the modern facilities. We thought the price for the room was very reasonable considering others that we had looked at in San Francisco (which on the whole is... More

Motel is in good area and close to the Fisherman's wharf (20mins walk) but walls are very thin and you can hear everything. Dont take the lower room or you will get up very early because of your neighbours upstairs. Breakfast is poor, parking and wifi ok.

This is a hard review to write, I travel a lot and always try to find the positives in the hotels I choose, there were some stand outs here....the managers were lovely, very helpful and efficient. The room was quite adequate and clean but not value for money. It is an old motel and on a busy road, unfortunately the... More

This motel was a little run down, dated and extremely basic, but it was clean and about a half hour walk from Fisherman's Wharf. Located over the hill on Lombard Street (crookedest street in the world), this motel was fair but noting really special. The bathroom was clean and the wifi was decent but the breakfast was nothing short of... More

We had trouble finding a place to stay in San Francisco that didn't cost the earth, but was in a fairly good location. We found the Town House Motel eventually and while still more than we were looking to spend was in the right part of town. We found it very easily but parking in the car park is quite... More

Traveling on a budget is hard in San Francisco, but this is a very nice place at an affordable rate. The manager was very friendly and up for some conversation, which always is nice. Makes you feel welcome! The room was nice, and since it's not facing Lombard street, also pretty quiet. Beds are comfortable and the room was clean,... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
