We spent two nights here this week and were very satisfied with the accommodations. Its a beautifully restored hotel from an era gone by and you do feel like you've stepped back in time when you enter. We had requested an early check in and were pleasantly surprised to find our room was ready at just after noon (normal check... More

My partner and I stayed for 2nights at this beautiful hotel for his birthday on 01 Apr,2015. We took the BART Train from the airport and had no problems getting to the hotel. Upon our arrival,it was as though we had walked through the looking glass into the 1900's. The lobby was small but the ambiance was breathtaking with the... More

Beautiful, historic building; bright and pretty restaurant with tasty breakfast; nice bar to relax in and enjoy a drink or two (bartender Mike is awesome!); nice staff. Parking is always an issue in they city, so expect to pay if you have a car (I think it was $35/day valet). Rooms are small and fixtures are on the older side,... More

Thank you for your four star review Ms. Brea! We are so glad you enjoyed staying in our unique hotel. Just like any other busy, noisy city, ours is as hectic as it gets. We apologize about the rooms being small. We cannot change the size since the whole hotel was built this way long ago. More

We recently stayed at the Majestic for 3 nights and 4 days. I have to say that the personnel is attentive to everyones needs. My husband and I had a good experience. The food and location were good. Some good cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood. Now the downfall. I thought the room was too small! I'm a small person... More

Yes! We try to make sure all our guests are satisfied. We are sorry that the shower was in your husband's face and the bed was too high for you! Other than that we are happy that you enjoyed the rest of your stay. More

Entering the Hotel Majestic is like going back in time. It survived the earthquake of 1906 and the fires that followed and has been proclaimed the longest operating hotel in San Francisco. So there is a wonderful turn of the century ambiance in the public areas as well as the rooms. We had a lovely suite with comfortable four-poster bed,... More

I recently stayed a week in this hotel and had a very pleasant experience. I found the staff friendly and attentive while the bedroom was clean and cozy. The food and bar in this hotel as well as staff is highly underrated. After dining around in the vicinity area, trust me, dine at the hotel.

The Majestic is a wonderful place to stay. It has an amazing restaurant...gourmet. The rooms are beautiful and not the sterile cookie cutter style of the big chain hotels. Lovely place. Also, it is a great place for a romantic get away.

I loved the character details - super comfortable four-poster bed, free-standing bath, floral wallpaper. There was also free WiFi, TV, radio (alarm) and a small fridge. Even on the fourth floor, however, the single glazing meant there was some noise from the street. I would also have liked tea/coffee-making facilities in the room, although the staff were always happy to... More

We stayed here for 1 night in a Junior Suite in February 2015 although we had 3 nights booked. The Good: Early 20th century building, lots of character. Free wifi. The Bad: Sadly too much to say. We arrived at approx. 10pm. The night staff we not very friendly, barely spoke or made any eye contact. My wife described the... More

We had stayed at the Majestic many times over 30 years. There was a time when we did not return because we did not like the way new management was running the hotel. We have just returned from San Francisco and we did choose to stay at the Hotel Majestic this time since we knew it was recently bought and... More
