At least chain hotels they have air conditioning in all the rooms and maybe a pool. I stayed here for work for 4 nights in August, when it was fairly warm (mid 80s) and my 5th floor room was stuffy and hot with no AC (and a smelly funk that lasted the whole trip). A cheap plastic box fan in... More

Hotel Majestic is a short drive or Uber from all the SF sites. You are not too far from downtown so you can walk there. What I liked about the hotel it wasn't too far for driving to other must sees in SF. The freeway isn't too far. Not too loud because you aren't downtown with all that night life.... More

Great location, friendly staff. As other reviewers have pointed out, the building is old and not state-of-the-art. No air conditioning (that we found, anyway—just an open window for fresh air). No gym. One rather slow elevator. But a clean, tidy room in a great location that makes it easy to get anywhere in the city.

I moved from the Hotel Cartwright to this hotel on my last night in SF because of the difference in price. You pretty much get way you pay for with the Hotel Majestic and I don't have any problems with that. The service was reasonably friendly and check in was quick. The hotel is very old and you can definitely... More

Booked San Fransisco accommodation back feb/march to try and get a good deal as I know it's a pricey city. Got 3 nights at Majestic for roughly £350 which is dear but was much cheaper than most places in the city. The hotel is not modern. It is quaint- it's floral and meant to be a bit old fashioned. I... It is a historic hotel, kept in the original style. It gives charm to the hotel and stay, but also means that there is no a/c at the hotel. The hotel was in general clean, but need some improvements, e.g. There was some black spot on the walls in our bath room. We only used the resturant for breakfast, which... More

Our family of four enjoyed a four day stay at the Hotel Majestic, finding it comfortable, friendly and reasonably priced. The room was spacious and well appointed with everything we needed. The decor has been maintained to reflect old world charm and furnishings are quirky and appropriate. The room was very clean and everything was in good working order. Though... More

Hotel Majestic is one of the most unique hotels in San Francisco for the reason that not many hotels have an old world theme. Most of the other hotels are basic. We create a more old fashioned feel. Thank you for staying at our hotel and taking the time to write this review. Hope to see you again! More

This is a truly unique boutique hotel, offering old fashioned courteousy. On my first night decided to have a drink at the bar & dine in. What luck; Michael the barman is a virtuoso with the cocktail shaker. He designs cocktails for the patrons to suit their mood. I met fellow "Aussies" Sally & John that first night who now... More

Hotel Prices in San Francisco have been creeping up consistently over the last couple of years. I have visited San Francisco consistently for leisure trips over the past 15 years and used to have a couple of favorite hotels in a price range under $200 a night. The St. Francis, the Fairmont, the Nikko, the Mark Hopkins, or the Hilton... More

We greatly appreciate that you enjoyed our unique decorations and for understanding the prices in San Francisco. Some hotels quote higher prices but don't offer their best like we do. We hope that you will come stay with us in your next visit to San Francisco! Thank you so much. More

The staff were helpful and the guy in the bar was great fun. The food in the restaurant was good but expensive. We arrived on a Saturday and the restaurant was closed on both Sunday and Monday evenings. We had brunch on the Sunday morning which was nice but there was no breakfast available on Monday. The room was lacking... More

We appreciate the hotel's staff and food. We apologize for the inconvenience with the restaurant being closed on Sunday and Monday. We also are sorry that you did not find the rooms very pleasing. The floor boards do creak, due to it being an old hotel, but it should not have disturbed your sleep. We hope you come back after... More
