This was our first stay at The Inn at Union Square. I had read many reviews and liked the fact that it was a smaller, quaint hotel with a great location. We had a busy trip and weren't at the hotel much, but we enjoyed every minute. The staff was great(Olivia, Ken and Ricardo) and the room was very clean... More

I first visited this hotel in 1983. It was great then, and it is almost as good now. Same good wine reception and breakfast, but decor not as fresh and lively...a little like the age we live in. The servo was excellent...front desk especially willing to go out of the way to help.

We stayed in the 2 room queen and couldn't have been happier. A nice view of Post St. and people watching toward Union Square. When the windows are closed no noise issue at all. On the 3rd floor, a nice breakfast selection and evening wine and cheese are served just outside the door! Beds and pillows are super comfy, and... More

A romantic get away to San Francisco and what better place to stay than the Inn at Union Square. The Inn is very intimate with afternoon wine and cheese and a wonderful breakfast set-up. The staff was very warm and gracious. So, take a break and get on the cable car which is right around the corner.

My wife and I stayed here while visiting San Francisco. We chose it because of location. The hotel was clean and the staff was amazingly helpful and friendly. I would recommend it for location and for the price you can't get closer to the shopping and the Chinatown experience. My issue was parking and valet for the vehicle. Other than... More

This hotel is in a fantastic location. Right near all the things we wanted to do and see. Our room was small but big enough. Well equipped. Very clean room. The wine hour (or two) is superb and gave us the opportunity to meet some very interesting fellow travellers while enjoying wine, soft drinks and nibbles. The breakfast was continental... More

The Inn at Union Square is a delightful boutique hotel, with a life and vibrance that flows from all the staff. This is what makes it feel like visiting home. Evening drinks and cheese, breakfast in the breakfast alcoves, cookies appearing out of nowhere, staff greeting you ALL the time, ... I have given it 5 stars because it represents... More

Every member of staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Special mention to Omar, Edgardo, Ann and Ken. and all the gang eager to please. Champagne and chocs on arrival for my birthday, lives up to previous Trip Adviser reviews

Friendly staff and a very central location less than a block from Union Square. Good value for dollars spent. Infrastructure in this tiny hotel is a little lacking. There is no AC - only a fan. The carpets in the room are worn. There is no fan in the bathroom? The bed seemed a little worn to me... much too... More

This experience was in so many ways an object lesson in the hazards of evaluating hotels based on the reviews and photographs one finds here and . We have reached the point where nothing you read and nothing you see is representative of reality. The staff are friendly. And that, quite honestly, is it. The building is a narrow, dingy... More
