We spent 2 nights at The Fairmont San Francisco. The rooms in the older part of the hotel were large and perfect for families. My children loved all the holiday decorations. We had a wonderful breakfast at the Laurel Court. We booked at the Fairmont in part for a New Year's Eve dinner at the Tonga Room. That dinner was... More

My favourite hotel in the city due to the location, view from the tower, room quality and service! The suites in the original building can't be beat for size and comfort. Jump on a cable car and head in any direction to cover all of San Francisco or go get your rum on at the Tonga Room....a SF legend. I... More

My husband and I stayed there for 8 days, we join our friends to walk around San Francisco. The Fairmont has a stunning lobby which is really suitable for business guests and movie shooting. We also ordered Amazon delivery, they even delivered to our room instead of asking us to pick up. Breakfast, wifi and valet services need surcharges, so... More

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend. Beautiful, upscale accommodations. We had an amazing view of the Bay Area. The lounge area served interesting drinks and had a great vibe. Great place for a romantic get-away!! Don't miss the tiki bar. It is spectacular. Downside: The gym is crowded and used by non Hotel members. This felt... More

The Fairmont, located at the top of Russian Hill, is one of those old school icons of San Francisco. It's set away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but still close enough that you can get to the heart of the city in just a few minutes by cab. The rooms are really well maintained, although, it is by... More

i was very fortunate to stay in this iconic hotel for a few days in Septemeber 2015. The service was excellent and all the staff were so very friendly. The views out of the city towards the bay are exceptional......panorama photo opportunity. It is not a long walk to Piers....Just catch a cab on way home though as very steep.... More

I had dinner in the larger dining room. The food took quite a while to be served but when it was, it was well worth it I had a five course dinner pkg and it was wonderful. The decor was modern antique. Only way to describe it A perfect end to a business trip in California

This is a really beautiful hotel, you know from the moment you step into the foyer that it's all class. The rooms were massive although strangely the bathroom was the size of a tiny closet (this despite the walk in robe being the size of some small hotel rooms), could well do with a bit of a refurb. My biggest... More

My husband and I attended a wedding at this hotel in early February. We stayed in the tower section on the 18th floor, corner room and had the most amazing view of the bay (and half the city as well). The views alone were worth the room cost, but the room itself was very nice, clean, modern (we've been to... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
