Worst customer service I've ever experienced from the front desk and manager on duty at the front desk. They definitely do not live up to a high end resort as far as quality employees. Will never stay here again.

This is a lovely hotel on Nob Hill. If you are in San Francisco, might as well stay at the top of San Francisco, right? The lobby is stunning and the rooms are big. We stayed in the original hotel where the rooms had been refurbished. Bathroom was rather small and pedestrian. There were not enough easy access plugs for... More

Hotel is very nice, we stayed in a suite with a really amazing view of Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge. The suite was nicely furnished and clean. Disappointed that wifi was not complimentary given what we paid per night for the suite.

The bar staff was overwhelmed and after 30 minutes brought the wrong drinks to the table and we never got another. The bedside lamp did not work in the room and the internet was slower than my LTE. The fitness area could use a remodel and upgrade and the overall feeling of the place was tired and worn out. There... More

it's the Fairmont on Nob Hill...its elegant, old world charm is still stately and impressive. The rooms were refurbished yet still maintained a Victorian elegance with heavy draperies and handsome woods and marble tile. At this historic Grand Dame of San Francisco, our corner room faced Grace Cathedral and we awoke to the soft chiming of bells each morning. I'd... More

Check in was easy and the staff was very professional and congenial. The room was clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The vibe of the hotel is very quiet but classy. The property is a little removed from Union Square but it's close enough that it is convenient yet it gives you enough distance to be quiet at... More

We stayed three nights at the Fairmont during our first visit to San Francisco. It is a wonderful hotel, with heritage and in a great location, Nob Hill. The rooms are spacious and the staff extremely helpful and pleasant. I would certainly stay there again

For any occasion this hotel is one of San Francisco's finest! The lobby is like walking into a Palace! The hotel staff is outstanding and the room are clean and comfortable! The cable cars pass outside the hotel so catching a ride is easy!

Great hotel but parking fee is expensive. We stayed two nights and it was a wonderful experience! We upgraded on second night the view room of overseeing San Francisco Golden bridge and the view was beautiful . It was a the right decision. The bed is very comfortable and super nice. Recommended ;)

You will always be treated to first class at the fairmont . Me and my wife just wanted to get away for the weekend and the fairmont is top notch to pamper you while staying there . I recommend asking for a room with a bay view . You won't find better hotel in SF . Don't waste your time... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
