The Donatello is very nice hotel. The rooms are huge and very clean. Good and new beds. The staffs are very polite. It is very close to Union Square, just 2 blocks. The trolley pass just 1 block and and their restaurant is very good with alive music. more

Not overly luxurious (Ritz) but just right, very clean, spacious room with microwave and refrigerator. Clean, wonderful location, probably one of the best as 2 minutes from Union square but not noisy. Union square is where most tours leave from, public transportation and cable cars are everywhere. Our group of 6 girls stayed in this hotel for a few days in October. We really enjoyed our stay here. From check in, where a very kind gentleman checked us in to the rooms which were spacious and clean. The hotel is definitely aging--especially the elevators, but the nice clean spacious rooms, great location (a block from Union Square and close to everything), and attentive staff more than make up for it. This hotel was perfect. It was a brilliant location - lovely building, REALLY close to Union Square and we had no trouble with noise. Just a block or two away and the streets get a little mroe dodgy so this was ideal. The rooms were lovely with enormous windows, the service was excellent. Would definetly go back. more

The rooms are very spacious with "over the top" superior beds. When traveling a great night sleep is very important to me. The amenities and cleanliness is excellent, also. I have felt that the staff: housekeeping, bellmen, and front desk people have always treated me like they are anxious to assist me while I am a guest in the hotel.... more
