Stayed here for a few nights in December. Room was clean enough and spacious. Agree with one of the other reviewers about the noise from the streets at night but not a problem that the hotel can fix. I love Kimpton Hotels but this is my least favorite for things mostly out of their control. This is a big old hotel and while the hotel was quiet, there was considerable street noise late at night with cars and bikes roaring through the empty streets. You're right Giggee, we are a larger Kimpton property. But I do have to say that the staff has done a phenomenal job in keeping with the true Kimpton spirit. That takes a lot of work in a hotel that is twice the size of the Kimpton norm. We do, however, have a host of regulars that stay with us...
I've stayed in San Francisco before, and I was happy to find that the Drake was different from the other hotels. The doormen were extremely friendly (even though they looked uncomfortable in their Beefeater attire), the desk staff was more than accommodating, and concierge was top notch.
