When I read a newspaper review of this place, I knew that I had to go. It was on the shore of San Francisco, yet still accessible to the city, and the price was right. I found the hotel true to the newspaper review, old fashioned but charming. My room overlooked the pine trees of Sutter Park and the Golden... More

What a fantastic jewel of a hotel! We decided to relax at the beginning of the trip, and there is no better place. Land's End, Sutro Baths, Sutro Park, and the Pacific Ocean all right outside the door. We booked the Sea View Suite (bridal suite), on the top floor. The windows look out over the Ocean on two sides.... More

A lovely motel away from the hubbub of downtown -- and with views of the Pacific. Hard to beat the price. Nothing fancy, but spacious and just right for our needs. The attached restaurant serves breakfast and lunch. We ate sumptuous breakfasts there two days.

Great location! This hotel is across from the beach. Our view room, that cost more, had a small view of the ocean. The room was huge, but the furniture was very old. If you like showers, this room had a huge, remodeled shower! The commode and shower were in one area, and the sink was outside of it. That's very... More

You can't beat the location or the price at this "vintage" feeling motel. Although a bit shabby and dated, the rooms are clean and spacious. You can't beat the view and the location at Land's End. Just a short walk to the most spectacular views and hiking paths in San Francisco. Also the added convenience of free parking and a... More

This simple old motel is just across the street from Sutro Heights and the Cliff House. The accommodations are not luxurious but they are clean and modern. The cafe is a destination for neighborhood brunchers on the weekend and is worth a detour just for the food. There is not much out in this neighborhood but the views and the... More

I stayed here in October 2014 for 3 nights and had a 3rd floor room. I could see the ocean a bit looking out the window. Decor is dated - but may actually be an attempt at retro. Looked like the 60's. It was clean and pretty quiet. There is a courtyard that is nice to sit in on the... More

We had always wanted to stay here and are glad we did. However, this place is not for everyone. We stayed on the top (third) floor, in a room facing the ocean and on the bus route street. We did NOT notice any noise, though, and our nights were very quiet. The windows look new, very soundproof and we had... More

The Seal Rock Inn’s greatest advantage is its location. It is in a district known as the Outer Richmond and from a number of its rooms you can see the Pacific Ocean. Across the street is the engaging Sutro Park. The Cliff House, an elegant restaurant, is within walking distance, as well as an enormous beach, which is popular with... More

Search "budget hotels" in San Francisco and your options will be communal accommodations or the Tenderloin. In the same price range as these places is the Seal Rock Inn, located across from Lands End on the Ocean and with quick and easy bus access to the entire City (be sure to get on the 38L, not the regular 38!).
