The Seal Rock Inn’s greatest advantage is its location. It is in a district known as the Outer Richmond and from a number of its rooms you can see the Pacific Ocean. Across the street is the engaging Sutro Park. The Cliff House, an elegant restaurant, is within walking distance, as well as an enormous beach, which is popular with... More

Search "budget hotels" in San Francisco and your options will be communal accommodations or the Tenderloin. In the same price range as these places is the Seal Rock Inn, located across from Lands End on the Ocean and with quick and easy bus access to the entire City (be sure to get on the 38L, not the regular 38!). Our... More

We had the last room and it had a queen bed with 2 twins. The room was outdated and the twin beds looked like something from the 70's with stains on covers. I think they save this for larger families but it was near the VA hospital which where we needed to go. It smelled like dirty socks but the... More

Stayed there for 3 nights this past weekend. Comfortable room. Remodelled bathroom. The fireplace was a nice touch. My first night there was a little chilly and the fireplace warmed up the room quick. Thermostat adjusted. Third floor with ocean view. Bus stop didn't bother me. Easy access to Louis' and The Cliff House. Easy walk to my daughter's house.... More

I took my mother who uses a wheelchair and walker to this hotel for three nights. All rooms need to be accessed by a elevator which was fine for her. Most of the rooms have amazing views! They have updated the bathrooms and the mini bar areas. Being on the main patio makes you feel like you're at a summer... More

If you like the ocean, if you want to explore the old Sutro Baths or the Cliff House or see the Golden Gate Bridge from Land's End, if you like the convenience of a 24-hour bus right across the street from where you're staying that'll hook you up with every other place in the city, and you don't want to... We try to visit San Francisco every year. Last three years we have came directly to Seal Rock Inn when we arrive in town. it is the perfect quiet place before diving directly into city crowds. The newly renovated bathrooms are great-rainfall showers-beautiful area to walk around and look at the ocean. You can hop on the #38 bus right across... More

We were on our 36th anniversary weekend with plans to spend the majority of it at the museums in Golden Gate Park. PROS: Great restaurant! Loved the location - very convenient to Golden Gate Park and the ocean. FREE COVERED PARKING. Very large room and good for a family. The bathroom was recently renovated and very nice. The staff, even... More

We will go back to this motel every time as they went out of their way to provide us rooms, even though we had to move from one room to the next, so I could have back surgery Fort Miley VA Medical Center. The staff is wonderful, the restaurant has great food. they took care of my husband while I... More

Great little eclectic hotel. It's not 4 stars, but it's very clean and comfortable with an excellent restaurant who's food is very good and reasonably priced. You can literally walk across the street, catch a city bus for $2.25 and be at Fisherman's Wharf in 45 minutes. The prices are extremely competitive for San Fran and it has free parking.... More
