On a sunny morning around the corner from the Cliff House, this inn's restaurant was the only place open for breakfast...you can see the wind-swept coastal trees and the Pacific Ocean from the tables by the window. Service was very good but my food was just average...good poached eggs with A-1 sauce, but mediocre toast --seemingly from a package of... More

Nice spacious room and I mean really spacious. There was even a room divider to block out noise and provides a little privacy. The hotel is in walking distance to the beach, Sutro Baths and a couple of restaurants. We used the Muni, which was right outside the hotel, to go to Golden Gate Park and Fisherman's Wharf. If there... More

I live in the country, and a trip to San Francisco can cause sensory overload. This place is my new solution--I can visit the city, stay in a peaceful setting, and dip in and out of the buzz. I loved being able to get up in the morning and walk down to the ocean without any kind of shell to... More

We choose this inn because it was less than a mile from family that we were visiting. It seemed to be a quiet location across from a park, but our room was right above the city bus resting spot (locked bathroom for bus drivers). There were 3 or more buses starting, stopping and idling at all times of the day... More

I have stayed here twice now and plan to go back again. The reason I chose this location in the first place is because I'm from San Francisco and like being down by the ocean, away from the busy downtown areas, and with easy access parking. It's not flashy or chic but I love waking up and having coffee and... More

Our second multi-night stay, and we'll be back. A 20 minute drive (or longer bus ride) into downtown and most tourist destinations, but the large size of the rooms, free covered parking, safe location, competent management, and reasonable rates make the drive worthwhile. We've stayed only on the third floor, where rooms have fireplaces and some ocean views. It's nice... More

From my window, the Pacific Ocean. Over the traffic, the fog horn could be heard. For this former SF resident in the Sunset, the location is perfect. Short walk to the Cliff House, Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach, Lands End with views of the Golden Gate Bridge - bliss! If you want the sun and a pristine room, do not... More

We spent a few days here while moving our daughter into the dorms at San Francisco State University. The location is accessible to the school from the west side. It is a beautiful, short drive along the Great Highway which, even in summer, has very little traffic. The rooms were clean but dated. It reminded me of an old European... More

Stayed here 4 nights and had a lovely time.My sister and brother in law had the corner suite on the third floor and had a problem with the shower not draining,it was fixed the next day.We had plenty of hot water, decor is a little dated but who cares about that! Very scenic location close to the cliff house and Sutro... More

We have stayed at the Seal Rock Inn on numerous occasions in the last 25 years. Our Summer visit in 2015 was a dismal experience. Although the room was clean, we were very displeased by the fact that the "free WIFI" that was advertised was inoperable, the desk clerk was unable or not trained to set up the "wake up"... More
