My wife and I stayed for 3 nights recently. The hotel is centrally located, has friendly staff and has lots of character. However, I feel the hotel needs a bit of a make over. I found the beds rock hard and the old wooden floor boards make it noisy from guests rooms above.

Stayed 4 nights here and was not disappointed. Location was great and shops and restaurants within walking distance. Hotel was very clean and although our room was small and didn't have a fridge, other rooms in our party were bigger with fridges; beds were very comfortable. We were greeted with a 'shot' and coffee/juice were available during the day. Breakfast... More

A lovely quaint 1930's hotel. Our room was gorgeous and the bed was so beautifully comfy. I actually loved everthing about this hotel except the noise outside at night. We were kept awake by locals outside in the street shouting and drunk, so maybe ask for a room not overlooking the street. I did not complain, because I did not... More

Let me tell you, you won't be bored staying in this hotel. After driving Lombard Street, steep downhill and taking some turns, we arrived at our peace of mind in Frisco: The Hotel California. We handed in the key to our car for valet parking and could then carelessly (and carless) enjoy the welcome drink: a shot of tequilla. The... More

Our family of 5 stayed in room 516, with a king in one room, a bathroom, and two twins plus a roll away in the other room. Free breakfast (waffles, yogurt, bagels, toast, cereal) made everyone happy in a nice setting and saved us money. The room was cheerful with tons of character, clean, and had minimal city noise. Comfy... More

I went a day early before a trade show week in SF - this place was super cool. The rooms were great colors with lyrics painted around the ceiling - the staff was very attentive to what I needed and for suggesting local places to see or eat at. Kyle and Catalina at the front desk were quick and knowledgeable... More

We enjoyed a 1 night stay in a Suite with 1 king and 1 queen bed. The rate was USD$310 for 3 adults and included breakfast. After just spending the last 3 ½ weeks travelling as a couple and a friend in shared rooms, the luxury of having two actual separate bedrooms was fantastic! The room was great and those... More

We stayed for two nights and had a wonderful time. The hotel is not the most plush or fancy, but down to earth good food and people! Location is very good-close to trolley. Breakfast was generous and tasty. I would absolutely stay again and recommend to others.

I got a great deal through Priceline ($129/night) and was within walking distance from my conference. The free breakfast was great, the staff was nice, and the rooms were renovated. The floor was hardwood and not carpet, so it was clean, the bathroom was comfortable, the free wireless internet was great (most of the time...), there was a convenient desk... More
