The location of this hotel is great. It's a short walk to Moscone Centre, union square and Westfield Shopping centre. Great for both business and leisure! There are affordable eateries nearby too, so there're no worries about eating expensive hotel food. The room was huge, and housekeeping was good. Their concierge was pretty helpful too!

Our stay was uneventful. Staff was friendly, room was clean and value was good. Location is great, short walk to Union Square. The hotel is very large and very busy...corporate clientele is dominant. We enjoyed the hotel's location and the rooms were good and amenities what you'd expect from a large Marriott hotel.

We stayed at this location due to a conference, so did not choose it. It is a huge downtown hotel, near the convention center and lots of shopping. We asked at check in to please be in a quiet room away from elevators and vending on the highest floor possible. We were put at the end of a hallway on... More

I was in San Francisco for a meeting at the Moscone Center. The Marriot Marquis was a perfect location and an easy walk to Moscone. Hotel and its rooms were up to the standard I would expect for Marriott - an excellent health club. I try to save money on trips and the food offerings at the hotel were not... More

The hotel is in a great spot, very close to everything you would want in San Fransisco. It's a very very large hotel and a little impersonal but that's the norm in a big conference hotel like this so expect it to be busy as it will be. The reception area is vast and I've stayed here 3 times now... More

Good business hotel. Great if attending conference at Moscone Center. Doesn't get as crowded or crazy as some of the party hotels (e.g. W). Quite rooms. Friendly staff. Lot's of space for impromptu meetings in and around the lobby.

Dear chewish, Thank you kindly for your review! When we re-designed our lobby we made sure to include "chill zones" that are perfect for impromptu meetings with tables, comfortable seating, plentiful power sources and free Wi-Fi not to mention a Starbucks and our Bin 55 bar. Thanks again for mentioning our "chill zones" and for choosing the Marriott Marquis. More

We've stayed at this signature property several times and are still impressed with its friendly and professional service. This is one well run operation and the staff is trained to be accommodating and pleasant no matter what the circumstances. This site should be used as a training hotel for other hotel properties. Tye marriott - Ritz Carlton system just keeps... More

I enjoyed mybrief visit and loved the staff's receptiveness to questions. Since I had not previously experienced San Francisco on foot, I appreciated the staff for helping me. It was a flawless trip--highly recommend this hotel if you need access to the entire city. I loved my city view at night.

Spent the week of March 24 - 29th at the Marriott Marquis SF for a conference. Stayed here last year for the same conference and had such a great stay that I opted to stay here again. And again, it was an excellent experience. From location to amenities (Starbucks in the lobby is open EARLY!), this hotel is first rate.... More

Needed to be in SF for meeting at the Moscone. The hotel was a couple of blocks away. Very convenient and would stay there again. Usual staples in hotel, including Starbucks and small fitness center. Near Market Street. Too far to walk to Chinatown but ample local restaurants

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
