Though this may not be everyone's idea of the ideal, my family found it to be very convenient to the ballpark, close to all modes of transportation, a great list of nearby food places, very friendly staff, nice housekeeping. We stayed on the 20th floor, and had a nice view to enjoy. A nice stay.

Attended convention at Marriott Marquis. Have been here in previous years for other meetings. Hallways and rooms have been refreshed with new carpeting, etc. Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Lounge on 39th floor has good drinks and an amazing view of SF. Would return particularly at convention rates.

Stayed here with my wife on honeymoon and we were upgraded to a suite on 23rd floor which we were told had recently been refurbished. This can only be true if recently was 1980s (however we are grateful they upgraded us - the room was bigger than our apartment with tremendous views). The room could have done with more lightbulbs... A no-nonsense hotel, fairly huge and generic, but great for the business traveler who might have some time off to enjoy the city. Near shopping, Chinatown, MoMA, ballpark, Embarcadero and more. If you're looking for charm or romance, this isn't the place. But for everything else, a good choice.

Nice enough hotel but don't plan on sleeping in. Right next door is an old church that begins bell ringing at 730 on Saturday morning included. Apparently this occurs every morning. Very unpleasant experience. Towels are from an economy hotel. Something you would see at a 6-motel. Looks like Marriott is cutting corners on this hotel.
