A group of six college students took on San Francisco for two nights. Upon reserving this hotel, I'll admit we were a bit hesitant, however the price eased our worries. As soon as we arrived (three hours before check-in) we were greeted by a beautiful lobby with friendly staff personnel at the front desk. It's SF so who wants to... More

Was nervous reading some reviews but two 50 something females traveling first time to San Francisco and never felt unsafe. Use caution as with any bigger city if out after dark. Would highly recommend if want to save a little money. If savings are not important, stay closer to the Wharf. Would definitely stay here again.

I took a group of foreign students here; we reserved because we were on a strict budget and it was the best deal I could find with a central San Francisco location. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was consistently friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. A short bus ride from most of the city attractions. Only downside was... More

It's nothing exceptional... except that the price is comparatively low for a very good location... including more than decent breakfast. The room was not very big but very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was tiny but had everything necessary.

Location is very sketchy with what seemed like crack heads and prostitutes milling outside. Staff was very slow, lobby somewhat shabby. Our room was located through a maze of doors that lead to an outdoor set of rooms. It was like a dingy motel in the surrounded by not good urban setting. Room smelled like Stale smoke. Beds were rickety.... More

Stayed here about a year ago and I loved it. Very close to public transit and the rooms were clean and a good size. Mel's diner is connected to the hotel and I loved the food and atmosphere there too. The hotel is beautiful and easy to find. Bread, cereal, yogurt & fruit for breakfast. The room can get quite... After booking online what is suppose to be a three star location I have to say I was very disappointed upon arrival. The first issue occurred with check in, being a student I don't own a credit card, so my mum has given me hers to use for things such as room deposit. The receptionist was extremely rude in saying... First time visiting SF and was not sure where to stay, but this hotel location was very convenient, located near civic center, opera house, SF Symphony, right next to AMC theatre. 20 min walk to Union Sq. where you can purchase the bus passes. Bought 3 day pass for $26. (http://www.sfmta.com/getting-around/transit/fares-passes/visitor-day-passes) It is good for all transportation including bus, train,... More

The hotel itself is quite average. It was relatively clean but a bit dated. Breakfast was quite basic but a good diner is located next door. The room was dated and small but wi-fi was free. The location isn't great either; there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby but the city centre and the main attractions aren't within reasonable... More

One of the major advantages of the property is its location, which is quite closer to Union Square, Chinatown, Civic Center and a couple of other attractions. The rooms, though are small, but spankingly clean and cosy. We found the staff very helpful and courteous. The best part was the breakfast which was quite elaborate, but the menu was same,... More
