The overall hotel experience was good. We stayed on the club level. The room was dated but clean. The happy hour was a nice perk, but the lobby had wine for all guests, so it wasn't a huge bonus over the standard. Everyone was friendly. Good location for Union Square. More

Dear sophie11 Thank you for your comments. While I appreciate your comments I was a bit dissappointed that we didn't knock your socks off with our service. Nonetheless, Thank you again for your review. Sincerely, More

Our 4-day stay in October was quite nice. Prescott is a smaller, more understated version of the Kimpton chain that dominates San Francisco in particular. The location is convenient to Union Square and the Powell streetcar line. The hotel is well-kept, though not particularly modern. The baths are of good size, clean and nice. The furniture and bedding also was... More

Dear jefftim, Thank you for your comments. We appreciate that while you found us understated and not as modern as other Kimpton Hotels that we still have the feel and service of a Kimpton Hotel. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay and felt comfortable and relaxed at our wine hour. Regards, More

This is the perfect getaway, shopping and family hotel. We go to the city with another family, twelve of us, this this was the perfect venue. Close to shopping, the cable car, testifies at Union Square. Everyone was nice and helpful, from the valet, doorman and front desk. The bar next door even reopened for us for a late night libation...so... More

After reading some past reviews, we were very pleasantly surprised. If you are used to very modern high rise hotels like a Hilton, it may not be for you, but we loved the older building with period charm. Our third floor room was spacious enough, had a comfortable bed with white linens, modern bath with thick towels and expected four... More

I've stayed in both the club and non-club levels. The difference is remarkable. The age of the building shows through in the regular rooms, and they would be a disappointment to those used to Kimptons. But in the club level, they make an effort to spiff things up a bit more. The rooms are very comfortable (though not with the distinctive... More

Dear faura- Thank you for your review. I am not sure when you stayed previous to this one but we have made some more improvements in the Deluxe rooms such as recarpeting all of them. We will continue to spiff things up on the deluxe throughout 2012. we hope you'll come back and see some of the changes. Regards, More

Traditionally furnished hotel with wonderful community room that has a welcoming fireplace--coffee in the morning, three different newspapers and wine in the afternoons. The community/living room is a nice accessory to the comfortable bedrooms. We had a Queen deluxe room that was snug and so spending our "down" time in the common living room was a great comfort. The bedroom... More

My husband and I spent an evening in San Francisco to see the lights, shop, go to a performance at Davies Hall, etc. We chose Prescott Hotel and were extremely pleased. We used our AAA card and paid for Club Level and it was definitely worth it. Room is small but very nice, quiet and very comfortable bed. We enjoyed... More

I love this hotel chain - every hotel I've stayed at in the chain (until now) has been well maintained with fun, quarky boutique hotel charm. This hotel is - honestly - a poorly maintained charmless property. The staff is nice. And they upgraded me (due to frequent stays this year) to a very large suite. But everywhere the paint... More

After the inflated prose on the hotel website, I was hoping for more. The location is great, and the staff seemed pleasant enough, but the room was shopworn and wasn't as clean as it should be/could be. There was some mold in the bathroom and much scuffed paint on the trim and chips on the furniture. The mattress felt tired,... More

While not fancy in the gleaming-brand-new-very-expensive type fancy, this is a very nice hotel. The shiny gleam is off as it's a bit long in the tooth but that, for me, contributed to its ambience. Rooms were very comfortable and decent sized. Saw another review mentioning small TV screens but my room had a ~42" flat screen TV--no problem there.... More

Dear ESOZ- Thank you for the solid review. We are always continually updating things but never with the intention to change to modern. And yes, every room has a new flat screen television. So, there's our nod to modernism. We hope your travels bring you back in the near future. Cheers, More
