Rooms are nice and roomy. We had a beautiful view of the Bay. Beds are super comfortable. If you like in room coffee, there is none. You have to go to the 3rd floor. Also in room service and restaurant are very expensive. There is a fridge the room. Good central location. 20 minutes to Wharf, Union square. Chinatown is... More

Le Meridien was an excellent stay as expected. Clean and luxury rooms, no street noise, friendly staff. The room was spacious and the beds and linens were extremely comfortable. The hotel location is good, near the Embarcadero.

Although the hotel was located on the edge of Super Bowl City, after the events ended (around 10 p.m.), there was surprisingly little street noise. We were within easy walking distance of the Embarcadero and about 20 minutes from Union Square. Décor throughout the hotel was contemporary but warm. Although we had a suite, there was very minimal storage in... More

I spent a long weekend, taking advantage of a Groupon deal which made the price very competitive. Good, clean, modern, and quiet rooms, some with very nice views of the Bay. (The modern decor, including the angular white desk on which the TV sits, won't be to everyone's taste.) Good location, near the Embarcadero, 10 mins walk from the Ferry... More

We booked a prepaid cheap deal through Expedia for my daughters sixteenth birthday, We stayed three nights during Super bowl Sunday weekend. I had requested a bay view with a room on a high floor and that's exactly what we got. The hotel is modern, clean and in a great location. Our room was spacious and the beds and linens... More

Located in the Financial District, for some reason all my Uber and taxi rides dropped me off and picked me up at the bar entrance - not the easiest to drag your luggage through. Excellent staff and service, especially by Claudia, who is an asset to the hotel. She was able to assist me with each of the room reservations... More

I recently stayed here for 2 nights for a Company event. This was quite an upgrade from when it used to be a Hilton & I'd stayed here about 20 years ago. The interior, rooms & décor are much more modern now. My room had a decent view & an extra comfy bed. A robe, hair dryer, two luggage racks,... More

I've stayed here more than a dozen times over the years but you'd think I'm a new customer every time I show up. So much for loyalty. Check in staff are not that helpful and act as if they're doing you a favor to let you have a room. The rooms are nice bug good views are hard to find.... More

Stayed here for the second time in December 2015. Our room had a view of the bay and better furnishings than on our previous stay a few years ago. The location (Financial District) is good for getting around SF without being in the heart of the more touristy areas. No complaints.

I stayed at Le Meridien on my business trip to SF in December 2015. I noticed the fine design - it was around christmas time so decorations were quite festive. The room was very big and nicely furnished. Big windows, huge bed, very comfy, full bar, quick service, nice shower. What I liked most about the hotel is its location.... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
