We stayed at Le Meridien San Francisco for 2 nights. As a Starwood Preferred Guest (gold level) we prefer to stay at Starwood related properties, so that we can get a late checkout (4pm), free Internet, and other perks. We were given a room on the 23rd floor (2308, as I recall) overlooking the bay - and the view was... More

We spent a couple of days in San Francisco and loved our stay at Le Meridien. We were able to walk everywhere from Chinatown, to the Wharf. We were upgraded to a suite on the 16th floor at checkin and were not only comfortable in the room but also had a nice view of the city and even a bit... More

they are renovating the hotel, the noise and vibration from drilling on the 5th floor was intolerable in my 13th floor room . Company put me up here or I would have checked out or demanded a substantial rate reduction.

Thank you for writing about your recent stay. We are sorry about the noise and do understand why this would be difficult for you. We are refreshing our rooms but that doesn't involve noticeable noise. What you heard was unavoidable and legally required ADA work that we must complete. There have been some louder periods that we did not anticipate... More

We stayed for 2 short nights beginning of March for Chinese New Year. Excellent location for easy walk to Chinatown, Embarcadero, trolley, buses, even Fisherman's wharf. Front desk was helpful, we arrived at midnight and he knew who we were. Our room was very nice and quiet with a great view. We enjoyed the bar and were very excited to... More

Spacious room and bath with fridge, no microwave. Concierge voluntarily aided without request when she overheard our questions. Courtesy bottled water and morning coffee/tea in dining room were pluses. Appreciated that product labeling was in its upright position when bottles were inverted as to use and so were presented in this position. Decor was business like in color and design.... More

Last year we discovered this hotel through hotwire - great deal for a one-night stay. It was a birthday trip and we live in SF but wanted to stay in a hotel for one-night to celebrate. When we checked in they automatically wanted to upgrade us - nice touch! We actually paid a bit more to get an even better... More

I was a regular at this hotel - never again. They recently redecorated the rooms and replaced the desks with a counter and small bar stool - impossible to work for more than a few minutes. What on earth were they thinking? Sad because the staff are lovely and the location is good.

Thank you for writing and sharing your thoughts on the newly styled rooms. We appreciate the feedback and we are sorry that the space does not work for you. While the majority of the feedback is very positive about the rooms we understand that some people might prefer a different design and we apologize for that. Much of our feedback... More

I've stayed here several times over the last few years for both business & vacation trips. I like the location in the business district, close to the Embarcadero & the Ferry building, which has the greatest farmer's market in the world on Sat mornings. It's quiet at night & some small shops are closed on weekends being it's in the... More

Rooms are somewhat smaller but were beautifully outfitted when this was a Park Hyatt. The redecorated rooms are ok but nothing special. The front desk was rude, as others also have noted -- consistently so. Several guests had trouble logging into the hotel's Wi-Fi and the front desk treated each and every one of us as troublesome when we asked.... More

Thank you for writing about your recent stay and sharing your feedback. We appreciate that you liked the style of the Park Hyatt and also found it very pleasing. However, since we are now a Le Meridien we are striving for a different look and feel than the style Park Hyatt was known for. We are updating the design to... More

This is classic 5 star business hotel in San Francisco. Location is perfect for downtown but I was there for weekend. It could use a pool and spa on site is my only negative. It is close to transit, Chinatown, little Italy. The staff were very helpful. The room clean good size for a city. I would stay again.

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
