I have stayed in many many Hotels in San Francisco. Many have nice lobbies and facilities. The rooms are often small, generic and disappointing. Le Meridien is always a thrill. The rooms are huge with large panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay, including Coit Tower and glimpses of North Beach and the Transamerica building in the financial district. Everything... More

Was in town for a business meeting - first time visit - room was spacious, clean and the service was friendly. It is a short walk to the wharf (visit the farmers market) and to the financial district. Union square is about 10 minute walk too.

Lovely room. Upgraded to a suite as Starwood Members, very nice. Had booked a Bay View Room and we were placed on a floor on bay side with building view. I was clear at check in we paid more for bay view. A disappointment. The morning protestors were not our preferred wake up call. Be aware. Ask for coffee maker... More

Got a Le Meriden deal on Travelzoo that included parking -- a must if you have a car in San Francisco as parking is very expensive. The location was great -- near the ferry building and its amazing Saturday Farmer's Market, a comfortable walk to Fishermen's Wharf, and very accessible to public transportation. We were upgraded to a suite which... More

We've stayed at this hotel twice, the most recent time being just last month--Nov 2014. For us, this is the ideal location in SF because we love access to the Ferry Building, which is only a 5 minute walk. We love eating as much as possible at the Ferry Bldg! Also, our friends introduced us to an app for the... More

Le Meridien was previously a Park Hyatt--so, the quality of the rooms, dining areas, and lounges are top quality. The location is good and within walking distance of parks and the Ferry Building. The staff is very friendly and professional. The hotel will accommodate pet dogs. This hotel is part of the Starwood group. Many rooms have nice views of... More

We have stayed twice at this property over the last year, with the most recent visit at the end of Nov. 2014. There is much to like about the hotel -- many rooms have great views of the Bay Bridge; the location is very convenient to the waterfront, China Town, Nob Hill, Union Square and many of our favorite SF... I stayed here for one night on a business trip and got the room through Priceline for a discounted rate. The hotel is located not too far from the Ferry Building, down the hill from Chinatown, and across the street to the Embarcadero Center. The room was clean and basic. My bathroom was large for city standards and came with... More

We enjoyed another wonderful stay at Le Meridien which has become our favorite hotel in SF. The Front Desk Clerk, Josiah, was friendly and helpful. Our room on the 16th floor had a nice view of the Bay and the decor was clean and modern. The bed and bedding was very comfortable. We really like the configuration of the spacious... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
