We just got back from our two night stay at this great hotel. It was perfectly located for all of the sightseeing that we wanted to do in our short visit. I had called ahead to make sure we got a King bed, although we were only on the 7th floor (with no views.) We arrived on Saturday night and... More

My fiance and I decided to book a room in the city instead of dreading the long drive back to the South Bay since we were attending a birthday party. We checked in on Saturday and room was a decent size for the city. It was a little outdated but it was fine for one night. We wanted to take... More

I was very pleased with our stay at Le Meridien San Francisco. The desk staff and valet were extremely friendly and accommodating. We had a room on the 22nd floor and the view was amazing. We were in town for SF Beer Week and the hotel was in a great location that allowed us to walk to all, but one... More

My room had 1 king size bed, which has been the comfiest bed I have ever had at a hotel. The service was pretty good, and there are lots of places to eat around. The only downside is that since it is in the business district, many of the places close early. Parking is really expensive, so walk a couple... More

I checked in about 6pm and fell to sleep very soon, woke up after 2 hours with allergy reactions on my back then I realized there is a strange smell in room. I called reception and found out they just renovated room about 2 weeks ago. I told front desk about my allergy, and the woman denied that it's the... More

I am sorry to hear that you had an allergic reaction during your stay with us. I hope you are feeling better now. I am also sorry you felt the manager was rude--I apologize for that. At the time we only had rooms similar to the two you tried--pre renovation and post renovation. While most guests appreciate the newness of... More

I stayed at Le Meridien Hotel this weekend because I was attending some activities in San Francisco. The hotel is located in a very good location, walking distance to North Beach and its restaurants, bar, pubs and the Embarcadero and San Francisco waterfront. I did not use the parking but looked at the rates and thought that they were "exorbitantly... More

Nice location, walking distance to restaurants, pubs, and historical sights! Hotel is very nice, rooms are good size, beds very comfortable, great staff, offer valet parking (use as parking in the city is horrible)! If you want a city view it is good, if you are looking for a view of the bay, this is not the hotel for you.... More

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and overall it was awesome. We had a bay view room on the top floor (at 24th floor), and enjoyed seeing Coit Tower, Saints Peter and Paul Church and San Francisco Bay while sitting inside the couch in front of the floor to ceiling glass window. Pros: Excellent location, just at the... More

I've stayed in SF many times and always at a different location based off what was the best price at the time. I loved the location as its right off the bay bridge and walking distance to almost every attraction. My husbands car is stick shift and we are not used to the huge hills; the hotel was not on... Very comfortable room with two queens for a family visit. Great location within a short walking distance to the Ferry Building and street vendors on Market St. Movie theatre and shops across the street. Overhead walkway goes across the street so you can walk directly from the hotel without going down to the street. Very nice and polite staff. Immediately... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
