Stayed here with my wife just before the beginning of a business trip. Used it as home base to visit all around SF and really enjoyed the stay. We rented bikes and didn't know what to do with them - after the valet joked that he'd be happy to park them, they let us know it was ok to take... More

We spent three nights at the Le Meridien San Francisco over Spring Break with our two elementary aged children. Although the hotel is located in the Financial District and has more of a business-y feel to it, we found it to be very comfortable and amenable to families. We arrived on an early flight into SFO and took the BART... More

Recently returned from this hotel and and it was very comfortable and within easy reach of fishermans wharf , union square and market street. However I was disappointed with the lack of space for your clothing. We had booked a room for 3 adults and there was only 2 drawers and a wardrobe. We had to live out of our... More

Thank you for writing. We appreciate the helpful review and we are pleased that you liked the location. We hope you had fun exploring the city. We are sorry though that you found the lack of storage disappointing and I will share that with our design team. While this is the first we have heard there is not enough space... More

Stayed there two nights during the week. Nice, clean and pleasant staff. But, the banging noise outside is enough for never wanting to return. I don't understand how the hotel or even the city of San Francisco can allow these people to create such noise pollution. I will have to think twice should I return.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. We absolutely sympathize with you for the early-morning disturbance during your last stay with us. Unfortunately, as the people outside have no affiliation with the hotel, we have no control over their actions. The protest was carefully carried out within the letter of the law as set down by both Federal and City... More

The hotel is located in the financial districit with a modern design. The room was spacious and the staff was professional. I noticed the a book shelf which is kind of old school. I suggest they consider Foli app which I used at another hotel to read eBooks and digital magazines on my iPad for free. I like this hotel... More

I absolutely love the Le Meridian brand! With that said, I was not surprised by this location. The decor was neat and fresh looking, and the location is superb! I stayed here while attending a meeting and I was impressed by the meeting facilities and also the food that was provided. The bar has happy hour everyday, and the drinks... More

Can't beat this location - walking distance to the Ferry Building and great restaurants in the Embarcadero. The hotel entrance is a little confusing; kept entering on the bar side but you can still get to the main lobby from there. Reasonably sized rooms, modern design, and very clean. For our meeting, the event staff was great, very responsive and... More

If hotels can be rated by location just as real estate is, then this one scores high. If your business or pleasure is really SF city, you may not have to use any cabs or rent a car at all. The rooms are quite efficient with a timeless decor. No cheap furnishings, although my corner room had a very strange... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
