Hotel with contemporary décor and located in great location. Across the street from Embarcadero Center, walking distance to ferry building and Chinatown. Room very comfortable and spacious with nice views of the bay. Valet parking was very efficient. Would definitely stay again.

Love this hotel, we always stay in one of the suites here. The bar makes some amazing drinks and we love to sit and have a few cocktails before we go out for the night. It may not be the "best" hotel in SF but it is probably one of my favorites (along with the hyatt) in the city, we... More

Bad experience. Got over charged! Rude management. I BOOKED MY ROOM the same day as my friends. I booked on the hotels website and they booked on expedia. I paid 500.00 and they paid 350.00. I called the manger Zack and asked him to refund me the difference as we got identical rooms. He was not only non-helpful but making... More

Location was great - a short walk to the Embarcadero and not far from some great eats or our meetings. Checkin was speedy and the room was quite spacious. The work area was like a bar or set high, but it worked well for me. If you need to do a lot of work you may want a more traditional... More

Beautiful hotel on Battery St. in financial district. We used a Groupon for two nights here at $159 per night which is a steal in San Francisco. The hotel is very contemporary with modern touches throughout. Our room had a king size bed, flat screen TV, desk and a bar area with bar stools which was very cool. The room... More

We have family in town so we visit San Francisco often. We had stayed at the Hotel Vitale but the rates have gone up a lot over the years so we needed a new place to stay. The location is great - close to a lot of downtown spots. The hotel staff was accommodating and the bed was fantastic! We... More

Stayed here twice in one week. We were upgraded both times and had beautiful rooms. The staff is fantastic. Rooms were well-maintained, offering spacious areas and spectacular views. Even though this hotel caters to the business professional, our family of three was quite comfortable. Prime location with a 5 minute walk to the Embarcadero. Complimentary coffee and tea in the... My family and I recently returned from a 6 night stay (August 1st through the 7th) at the Le Meridien San Francisco, and I am so pleased that we chose this hotel. As an SPG Gold member using points for our stay I was a bit curious as to what sort of a room we would be given, even though... More

At least I found other reviewers here who agree with me on all levels. At best Le Meridien San Francisco is 3 Stars. I too was surprised to see that the Le Meridien is the Only Hotel at which I've stayed that does Not have a small coffee maker with an assortment of coffees and teas in the Hotel Room.... More

This hotel got a major remodel just a couple of years ago. So everything looks new. The lobby is large and has lots of sitting books perfect for a little work or getting together for coffee and drinks. Lobby has a Euro feel, like its name. I got upgraded to a studio suite, which was huge and has corner view... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
