We haven't left yet but the folks here have treated us like royalty! Every single person from the front desk to the maids to the waiters have been friendly and have gone out of their way to be helpful. I travel the world, and this has been the best experience I've ever had. Thank you

We stayed just one night on our way from Europe to Hawaii. Our stay could not have been more relaxing. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We immediately got upgraded into a beautiful studio suite, got free welcome drinks and free internet. The room itself was spacious, modern and clean with tasteful furniture, a... More

Very stylish hotel walking distance to the Embarcadero, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 and a number of great restaurants. Lounge on site. Appetizer menu varied and very tasty. There are a number of different libations with a retro vibe or contemporary taste...whatever tempts your palate. Certainly worth a nightcap. Rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean. Concierge service above reproach... More

At the last minute we had to find a room and stumbled upon this gem! Le Meridien was absolutely beautiful. Our room was very spacious and modern. We were able to take the Bart and found it easy to navigate to the hotel. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Bar 333 downstairs had a great selection of... More

Nested in a quiet corner of the financial district, this hotel provides a serene and yet convenient rest point after a whole day of walking. The Bay, Ferry Building Marketplace and Chinatown are all within 3 blocks away. For shopping at Union Square, you can hop on to the nearest BART located 15 minutes away. The room that I stayed... Hotel was just ok. Rooms are a bit dated and the whole hotel could use a remodel. The only positive I can say is that rooms were spacious & bed was comfy. I would not stay here for my next visit to S.F.

Thank you for writing about your recent stay. It is disappointing that you were not impressed with the look of our hotel. This year the entire hotel was remodeled and redesigned including all guest rooms, the lobby, bar, and restaurant – but I am sorry that the décor was not to your liking. We are happy that you enjoyed the... More

Was able to check in early...gorgeous modern room with balcony overlooking the bay. Amazing king size bed with top quality bedding. Awesome bathroom with tub and desperate shower. Slept with patio door open to listen to 'city sounds'. ALL night! Late check out- noon!

I had meetings in the Financial District and was looking for a comfortable, stylish hotel. Le Meridien was a really wonderful choice. Great location, the room was lovely, extremely comfortable bed and a great shower - despite the low-flow California nozzle. Breakfast was excellent with great service. Very highly recommended.

Very clean, great staff and the rooms are amazing. Right down the street is a Sushirrito-my favorite part. Not far from a Trolley and the Bay. Got a great price on a Priceline deal (the one where you book and then they tell you where). Parking costs money-which is a bummer so we booked with ParkMe in a nearby garage.

I stayed for four days at this hotel this past week. The service is fantastic. I forgot that I had a Starwoods rewards account and they looked it up before I got to the hotel. The bar on the first floor is wonderful and was reasonable for being in the financial district. I was really impressed one morning when I... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
