The hotel is smaller than most of the hotels I usually stay at while on business. In general it was not a big deal at all, but they ly had 2 check in/check out positions and it did take longer than I would have preferred to check in and out. The room was VERY nice with a great view of... More

This hotel is very nicely located in the city. The room was clean and everything was very nice. The front desk staff was professional and helpful. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. I usually prefer to stay by the airport or in Emoryville because of the costs to stay in the city, but this was a very pleasant stay.

Although this hotel is a 300+ room hotel, it felt small, homely and personal. The staff is amazing, they made sure that I/we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay, from the concierge, the doormen, the maid service, all very warm and friendly. My husband was in San Francisco for business and I joined him for the sites and shopping. The... More

Older, remodeled hotel in the financials district. Good location for touring the city. Our suite was very spacious and clean. Front desk staff caused confusion over what's included in the continental breakfast - ended up having to pay above and beyond when using the "free" breakfast voucher. Restaurant food is very expensive but this might be the case with all... More

Thank you for the review about your recent stay. I am sorry that you were unimpressed and that there was confusion about what is included in the continental breakfast. There is a set value that corresponds to the continental breakfast in the restaurant and that could have been explained to you better. We are sorry for that. On a more... More

Nestled in the heart of the Financial District, Le Meridien offers an boutique hotel feel, while still being able to partake in the SPG program. The sites of San Fran are pretty spread out, but the financial district is a great place to situate yourself. You are very close to the Embarcedero and Ferry Building. The Fishermans Wharf is a... I had never stayed in a Le Meridien before, only Westin and W, but this place has made me a convert. Booked a room for my husbands birthday, mentioned the occasion at check in and they kindly upgraded us to an executive suite. The perks of staying on a weekday. Anyway, we showed up around noon expecting to drop off... More

i chose this hotel because of its location within the business district to all the other meeting locations that i had on my recent trip. the front desk staff and concierge were extremely helpful with suggesting locations for meals/meeting places. the proximity to the embarcadaro center made for a great place to relax and walk around when i wasn't handling... Thank you for writing about your recent stay with us. We appreciate the feedback. I am very sorry about the room service mix-ups, I agree that these issues should not have happened in the first place and I will certainly be bringing this up with our service team to find out why these shortfalls happened. Also, I am happy that... More

We had a room on the top floor with a fantastic view of the bay. The room was so nice and spacious as was the bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great and was easy to get to. I will definitely stay there again.

We booked a studio suite for two nights. Seems like a solid, three-star hotel, not a four. The room was clean, with large corner windows and a nice view of the financial district. I liked the room well enough, but it is divided by a large, multipurpose furniture unit, which the TV sits upon. It was functional, containing a nice... More

We stayed here for five nights while visiting family in San Francisco. Got a great deal through Priceline, and to top things off, were upgraded upon check-in to a room on the 22nd floor and given free wifi. Views of the bay and city from the room were awesome, and location was perfect, right in the heart of the city,... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
