Stayed a couple of days for business in the city. The Mosser is an older place that's been kept up nicely. Some rooms (the less expensive ones) have a shared bath. I stayed one night in that type room and a second night in a room with a private (albeit small) bath. Both worked well for me. The shared bath... More

Great location! The room was very very small. No cupboard to stow your lugage. We had to put our trunks on the floor resulting in even less space. Noisy, during the day and at night. Luckily we just flew in from Europe, and being jet lagged it didn't bother us to much.

Stayed at the Mosser for three nights with partner, as it was the only decently priced hotel, thanks to San Francisco being a pricy place. Great location- centrally located with easy access to transport, shopping plus lots of food options. The hotel room was clean but so tiny! Smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. It had an ensuite but... More

This is a great location easy access to the BART and Union Square. Rooms are clean and decorated nicely. The service and front desk were great. Great spot for a budget traveler. The bathrooms and showers are separate but easy to access.

Great location for getting around the city, metro station just around the corner which has a direct train service from the airport and Union Square eating and shopping just a few minutes walk away. The rooms aren't overly large but enough space for a couple for a couple of nights and had all the facilities you need. Good value for... More

I picked this hotel from Hotels.Com. I didn't realize that I selected a room with a shared bathroom. My fault for not being more careful in my selection. There were two toliets-each one was marked Women and Men. There were two showers and tubs--without markings. The toliets didn't require a key card but the shower did. None of the rooms... More

We stayed at this central SF hotel recently and found it was a great hotel for the price. It is very close to central SF, including Union Square. The room we had has its own bathroom and a queen size bed. Everything was great for the price in this location. Clean, tidy and friendly staff. Would stay here again.

Location: 2 blocks from all public transport, short walking distance to lots of food options, 3 blocks from a huge shopping mall & many other retail stores, short walking distance to many pubs/bars, safe area to walk back to at night. Room: small in size but adequate (and normal for San Fran), we had a private bath (not all rooms... More

Great central location. Small rooms but had everything you could possibly want, including wee luxuries like bathrobes and ear plugs. Room is noisy at night so if you need sleep I wouldn't recommend but we loved it for an entire week! Staff were helpful and there is free wifi and a laundry.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
