Maybe I was spoiled by staying at the MO in Tokyo recently, but this hotel just felt drab. The staff was mostly warm and friendly (though it's usually nice when the doorman actually *answers* "good morning" and doesn't just stare dourly at the guest). Everything else was pretty disappointing. The rooms: they're not luxury hotel rooms. There's only so much... More

I would recommend this hotel for business travel but not tourists as it's located in the financial district and to get to the tourist attractions you need to take a cab or other source of transportation. Service was perfect, and a very friendly staff. The only complaint is that they close the bar at 11;00pm on Sunday.

It is located in the heart of the financial district and great for business. However, we went on a weekend and the hotel and the surroundings were dead. It only has one restaurant/bar, no music, no ambience, and was boring. The view from the room was spectacular and the room size was good, although the ceilings are a bit low.... More

I spent three nights at the MOSFO and had a great time. I arrived around midnight as my flight from NYC was delayed due to weather. As a precaution, called the hotel from the plane in NYC and they assured me that my room would not be given away. Upon arrival, I was greeted and check-in was quick. Rick who... More

My wife and I stayed here last week for three nights, to celebrate our anniversary. From the moment we arrived until we checked out, we experienced perfect service. Our Bay Bridge room on the 48th (top floor) at the corner was beautiful with stunning views including the Bay Bridge illuminated at night. The view from the bath tub was panoramic.The... More

I would recommend the Mandarin Oriental in San Francisco mainly to business travelers. There is nothing wrong per se, but it just doesn’t have the luxurious atmosphere distinctive to most of other MOs and for a vacation purpose it’s just a bit too ordinary. However, the service is friendly and we got some good tips and restaurant recommendations from their... More

We live in San Francisco but decided to spend the weekend downtown at the Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco to celebrate our anniversary. We had also done this 3 years ago, but that was before their renovation. They did a fantastic job re-doing the property. The rooms and public spaces were beautiful. Simple, clean designs. It was a wonderful "staycation" for... More

Had a wonderful stay at the MO SF recently for a special birthday. Deluxe City View room on the 44th floor had outstanding views, was large and spacious, and clean and comfortable. Would have loved the bathroom if it was bigger, as it was we only had one sink which made it tight for two to get ready. Service was... More

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights on a business trip and it was excellent. The views out of the rooms across the bay were amazing. The hotel rooms were spacious and luxurious and the bed was really comfortable and cosy. Rooms were spotlessly clean and tidy as were the reception area and breakfast room. Hotel was in good... More

We stayed at the MO San Francisco for a few days as the first stop on our honeymoon earlier this month. The location, furnishings and views are amazing. These things you are granted in many high end hotels. The view is exceptionally exceptional! See the pics. However the point I want to make, as a person who has my own... More
