My wife and I spent 6 nights at the Mandarin while in town celebrating our 13th anniversary in October. I have nothing but good things to say about the experience. The concierge was very helpful throughout our stay (getting us into Gary Danko on one day's notice, helping us with a quick rental car swap out when we were rear-ended... More

The room had an amazing view of the bay bridge; loved having binoculars in the room! The service from the employees was great! The in room dining service was awesome and the breakfast tasted amazing! What an experience!

If you stay anywhere in San Francisco on the luxury level, The Mandarin is second to none. Stay here if you want to be surrounded by a staff that cares about their guests and constantly goes the extra mile. They think of everything, after a 10 mile run around the city I was offered a towel and water as I... More

My wife and I love the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in San Francisco! The service is impeccable and the views from the hotel rooms are the best in the City! The location of the hotel is perfect because it is centrally located between shopping and the Embarcadero.

We recently stayed at the Mandarin for one week. The hotel is incredible! All of the staff are so professional and very polished. We had a Bridge to Bridge Room. The views were breathtaking! Three huge windows in the room to enable you to see all the scenery. There is not another hotel in San Francisco that has views like... More

I could not have enjoyed by stay more. This was my first time in San Francisco. The staff was extremely helpful in answering my questions and making recommendations. I was particularly happy with Marianne Wong and Dean at the concierge desk Tim was there to greet me and guide me through the maze. Calvin Lamb had everything set up perfectly... More

Booked three rooms for my family for a Saturday night stay in San Francisco. I have a handicapped daughter, so we requested two of the three rooms to be connecting. They called and left a message for me the day before our arrival to confirm that I really was booking 3 rooms. I called them back the next day, but... More

I stayed three nights for business and was allocated a large room on the top floor. Magnificent view. The room itself has all amenities and was very comfortable. Good shoe shine service. Large bathroom. Excellent breakfast, although the dining-room is not ideally located in the lobby area. Very smooth check-in / out experience, reliable transport service. The only killing detail:... We were in San Francisco for 3 nights to experience the City and attend a 49ers game. The Hotel staff are lovely. They make an effort to greet you by name. The bridge view between the rooms of the City is spectacular. The rooms still have a need for improvement. The sofas are dated and worn, the benches and the... More

We were in SF for a family wedding. The hotel is pristine and the service impeccable. Located centrally in the financial district it was walking distance to some awesome shopping. The service was terrific.

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
