My wife an I spent a night in the Loews Regency and we couldn't have been happier with the stay. We mentioned in our reservation was for our 17th anniversary and we received an upgraded suite, with absolutely spectacular views of all three San Francisco bridges, the Transamerica building, and the blue-lit Coit Tower. The bed was comfy as a... More

This was the last leg of our tour through California and was a great way to finish. We had both good, OK and poor hotel experiences along the way, but the Loews San Francisco was truly exceptional. The rooms are very nicely appointed but the views are truly exceptional - we had a room that gave views of both the... More

This hotel is the epitome of elegance; a modern classic with impeccable service. From our greeting at reception, through to the concierge who booked us a restaurant for dinner - plus a courtesy car for the 2 block walk so we didn't wreck our heels, to the doormen and porters the service was graceful and faultless. The room was of... More

Although the views are amazing, the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. The lobby consists of a counter with three people standing at it. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but if you are looking for a grand entrance or even a place to sit down, you've come to the wrong place. The rooms are average at best.... More

Beautiful view. Coit tower, Alcatraz. Golden Gate Bridge, bay bridge and bay full of ships and sailboats... What a luxurious birds eye view. Shower best ever... A+ pressure and hot quick. Loved it. Asked for shoe horn and got service within 3 minutes. Ditto in all other requests. Opened all three windows and what a fresh and cool breeze. Made... More

For those that don't know, the Mandarin Oriental recently sold this property to the Loews Regency. It is meticulously designed and quite modern post its 2012 renovation. What more could you ask for in an urban hotel? Frankly, not much. I recently spent a Friday night at this hotel and was blown away. I'm no stranger to luxury and have... More

We originally had booked our stay at the Oriental Mandarin however it changed hands to Lowes Regency, we were somewhat concerned at first but they won us over. Everything we expected from the Mandarin we received at Lowes. Every detail was attended to – we were totally spoiled. We stayed for 3 nights and our room had breathtaking views of... More

Stayed in this property once again for a 4 day business meeting. I had stayed here a few times before when it was a Mandarin Oriental property and it has always been a favorite. This is especially because of its breathtaking views, huge rooms and attention to comfort detail. The rooms in this property were fully renovated as a Mandarin... More

The Loews Regency exceeded expectations on every front. Not only were the accommodations extraordinary, every single member of the staff was singularly spectacular. They demonstrated the perfect balance of courtesy, speed, and responsiveness, delivered with authentic spirit. I believed they were really happy I was there, because I suspect they are happy being there themselves. First time ever I can... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
