First time staying in Presidio area. Hotel is quaint and staff is absolutely amazing! Bed was super comfy and kitchen area was great to bring back leftovers from dinner! Everything was Perfect! Will definitely stay here again!

we stayed here for 3 nights in Jan whilst attending a trade show and all downtown hotels were full. we weren't sure what to expect but we're delighted to find ourselves in the Laurel village neighborhood and in a hotel with such friendly and thoughtful staff! the hotel itself it a bit dated, but the most important thing was that... This was one of the saddest hotel rooms I have ever seen for the price. I booked this online - The Galleria Park was full - so their website suggested their sister hotel The Laurel Inn. It looked nice in the photos so I booked and paid in advance for a $310 US room ($360 CDN) When I got to... More

Great option for a budget traveler who wants to spend a week in a real San Francisco neighborhood. The rooms remind me of the mini-apartments that are common in European cities. They have kitchenettes that can be used for breakfasts or even to make a quick meal with supplies from the city's legendary farmer's markets. The street level is fairly... More

The Laurel Inn is a cute little boutique hotel well located in San Francisco. There are shops, small restaurants, grocery stores, a movie theater and The Presidio near by. You can request a room with a refrigerator. The rooms are quite large and some come with a view. They have parking available but Bus service is right on the corner..there... More

Our experience may be unusual because we stayed at this small boutique hotel for 2 nights during a very bad storm that knocked out power around San Francisco including the hotel. On the positive side, the staff tried to be helpful by holding flashlights as we tried to get to our car or to walk up flights of stairs in... More

While I do thank you for your input, I am sorry for the experience that you during your stay. During the power outage that took place, the majority of hotels in San Francisco were hit. Some of the larger hotels downtown did operate off of generators; however, the majority of hotels did not. I completely understand your comments in regards... More

Bought a night at a school auction, so paid less than regular rate. Out of town guests stayed here. Very convenient location to residential locations. Room had a great view of downtown. Nice beds (firm) and room. Elevator is ancient so took the stairs. Had cookies and lemonade in the afternoon, pastries for breakfast. Good boutique option. Does not have... More

Based on the price point, I must admit we were not expecting much in the way of sophisticated lodging. Admittedly the hotel has some age on it, thus some of the "modern" amenities end up being a bit dated, but overall the rooms and furnishing exceeded expectations. While it lacks air conditioning, so it could be warm in the deep... More

Thank you very much for your kind words. We are glad that you found our hotel to be "surprisingly elegant". While we currently do not have air conditioning in our rooms, we are looking forward to a thorough renovation of the hotel. At that time, we are looking at adding air conditioning in to all of our rooms. We look... More

I travel to the Laurel Heights neighborhood a couple times a year to work at the UCSF building on California St. I look forward to these trips because I know that I will be staying at the Laurel Inn. It is the true definition of a boutique hotel. It is as comfortable as I have ever been while staying in... More

We've stayed many times at the Laurel Inn when traveling to San Francisco for medical care. Each time we've been delighted with the accommodations, pleased to be in such a nice neighborhood near the UCSF Medical Center, and charmed by the friendly employees. They've taken good care of us over the course of several months of visits. The rooms are... More
