The Campton remains a top notch hotel with excellent service from the time you arrive until you check out. It's located 1/2 block from Union Square and it's many surrounding stores and shops (Eddie Bauer to Saks). It's quite a ways from Golden Gate but an easy trolley ride to Fisherman's Wharf. Word of warning: valet parking costs $64/nt!! It's... More

Great location, clean rooms and phenomenal staff! The best shopping in SF is only blocks away and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Dan the Man at the door is always ready to assist with your needs. It's always a pleasure returning to Taj Campton Place.

As we had come here for a nice 20th Anniversary......OUCH Overall Pros; Nice Staff Cool Lobby Bar Good Location Overall Cons;... More

The Taj was a very nice and unique place for us to stay. The hotel and staff definitely dedicate themselves to creating a detailed, delicate and refined environment. The attention they give to the rooms the set-up and overall common spaces is simple yet sophisticated. The hotel is very quiet. It's layout and levels lend itself to smaller floors, less... More

Taj always makes you feel special , my favorite hotel group as it always gives me the security and comfort of home away from home. The food in this hotel was amazing and the bar had a magical aura about it. Small and vibrant . The staff was polite and helpful with a friendly smile. What more can you ask... More

The Taj is conveniently located for SF shopping and the theaters. The staff provide excellent service and I loved the room. One star off for no view and the bar closes a bit early (10:00). Definitely recommend.

We always appreciate when we hear from our local audience, the ones who know their city and know whereof they speak. Being at the bottom of the hills, we are not a “view” hotel, but I was sorry to read of your disappointment in the bar’s having been closed so early. Our closing hours are 11:00 during the week, and... More

We recently stayed at the Taj Campton Place in San Francisco. Upon check out we were charged $100 per night more than my daughter's room which was larger and more luxurious than ours. They claim that this was a a DELUXE ROOM which it was not. I could have stayed in nicer accommodations at the HOLIDAY INN for a less... More

¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬Dear Scrapper3, Your daughter’s room was not larger than yours, which had two double beds and a credenza which take up quite a lot more space, making it seem not as spacious. Your room was approx. 150 sq. ft. larger and because we have only a few connecting rooms such as you had requested, the selection was limited. Rooms with... More

I stayed at this hotel the first time last year and had such a wonderful experience I was overjoyed to return this year. All of the staff from the doorman, desk representatives, concierge, wait staff to the housekeepers are very nice and kind and always made sure that my stay was a pleasant one. The restaurant is superb. I was... More

We love the Campton Place, both to stay and to eat. The bar has the best fried Calamari in the world. The restaurant is excellent. You can't beat the location, if you choose to stay. Understated luxury, very comfortable and pleasant.

This is the opposite of that big hotel where it takes you 15 minutes to check in and another 10 minutes to get to your room. It is small, run by great staff, and everyone goes out of their way to be accommodating. The rooms are fit to the highest standard, the bar is cozy with a great bartender, and... More

Dear TheKoonah, Thank you so very much for your very complimentary words. We know we have a great location, but we think the best part is the fabulous food! Parking is definitely expensive and when asked by out-of-town guests about renting a car, we always suggest that they do not unless they plan day-trips out of the city, and then... More
