I first stayed here almost ten years ago, and remembered the Campton Place as a small, charming and comfortable hotel. After years of staying at the bigger chain hotels, I recently returned and was delighted to find the same charming qualities, with the benefits of a Taj upgrade in service and standards. The service at reception was far above typical... More

Stayed here for a 2 day business trip. Service varied from average to brilliant - at most times not up to the Taj standard one expects. The room was small and cramped as well. I would rather stay at the Hyatt across the street next time.

Recently spent 2 nights at this property and was pleased with the location but the rooms were looking tired. Was travelling with my 84 year old Mother and was very difficult for her to use the shower due to the thickness of the tub,and height, I am only 50 and very fit, but found it difficult too.

Really enjoyed my 4 nights at the Taj. Not a bit place so the service was friendly and personal. Rooms wasn't huge but is was cost and comfortable. Concierge was very helpful and all staff were willing and helpful which made it a very pleasant stay. Brealey forgot Molton Brown toiletries - what more can you ask.

We loved the Taj and would go back again. It has a wonderful location, service, food. The only problem is the layout of the rooms. In one room there was no place to put two suitcases and drawers that looked like they were for jewelry. The staff is extraordinary. We mostly loved our four nights there.

What an improvement over our last stay two years ago. Great location, although the construction of the subway ( expected to last 4 more years) makes it difficult to get there. Next to Union Square, central to shopping and great walking. The hotel finally listened to their guests and now comps WIFI, they use to charge $25 per day, very... More

The location of this hotel is probably one of the best in San Francisco, which is lovated right by the Union Sqaure area. You can actually see Union Square from the Gym on the 9F. Hotel itself is beautiful and the room was nicely furnished with a very clean glass door shower. I've used the gym while I stayed there... More

This hotel is located in the heart of Union Square, a very convenient location in San Francisco. The restaurant and bar are both very good. I stayed in the 3rd floor and found the room clean and large. No noise at all. I used the concierge to make some reservations and to book a car to the airport. everything worked... More

The door service and reception were unassuming, friendly and efficient, a good start to the stay. The room was a modest and the decor somewhat dated but in good condition, the bed comfortably non descript. The breakfast was good and my coffee cup very regularly refilled by attentive wait staff. A good hotel, well located in the business district.

Dear NYCSBH, True, many of our rooms need refreshing. No one knows that more than we and we are currently working with an interior design firm to do just that. Carpets are an on-going project and each year a number of rooms are re-carpeted, but it is time for a new look. We hope to begin this project shortly after... More

In San Francisco you need to know where you will be spending most of your time. If you like to walk to different areas the hills can be tough. Union Square is great for the Financial District and China Town and Little Italy. If you spend a lot time near the Warf and that area the walk is very hard.... More
