The Regency Hyatt is located in downtown San Francisco. It is close to the Bay and to Market Street which contains shopping and dining areas and that leads you to Union Square. You will find small cafes and restaurants around the hotel as well as convenience stores and 7/11. The hotel is large with 17 floors. You can get several... More

It's a good hotel in an excellent location in San Francisco. It's right across the street from the Ferry Building which houses fun places to eat, shop and enjoy. The Farmers Market on Saturdays are not to be missed. Hotel location is excellent, service is good, and rooms are roomy. It's a solid chain hotel; nothing to complain about.

The pro's-location is great. Room is clean. Bed's comfortable. Food at restaurant was good. The con's-bathroom in double bed rooms are very small! Can be claustraphobic. The water pressure in the shower is horrible.

Not impressed. Room was nice enough, large, view of the bay. The carpet was dirty, huge spill spots all over. Charged for every little thing. Parking is $50 per day and it takes 30 to 40 minutes to retrieve your vehicle, even longer to get it parked. No refrigerator, except for their mini bar where a soft drink is $4,... More

The hotel was as expected for the period it was built- 70's style with lots of concrete and balconies, architect driven buildings with hallmark lobby spaces and funky angles in the rooms. The bathroom seemed a bit outdated for the caliber of hotel. The airconditioner leaked onto the carpet, causing a large wet spot. This was reported on check-out and... More

I am a huge Hyatt fan so I was very surprised by unfriendly reception we received at check-in. Our first room was unacceptable - the carpet was soaked, apparently from the air conditioning. When we called the front desk to report the problem they were surprised that we expected a different room?!? The next room was fine - larger than... More

I expected a run downed old 70's style hotel. What I found was a clean, well appointed room with updated fixtures, furniture and linens. The original bathroom was small but clean with hyatt quality towels and sundries you'd expect. The staff were professional and the concierge desk was extremely knowledgeable of the area and amenities. The Embarcadero location, while not... More

Just checked in here for three days...what a mistake...and three days to go! Started great with the very nice bellman and doorman. From there though, all downhill. The front desk clerk did not smile once during the check-in! I saw an advertisement at the counter for allergy free rooms. I inquired by asking about the allergy free option. The clerk... More

We stayed for two nights in June before flying home. On arrival the staff were helpful and friendly, made us feel very welcome. The main atrium is very impressive with the front desk, seating areas, restaurant and bars all open-plan. There are around 15 floors, all with a mezzanine overlooking the main atrium. Because of this design, sounds tended to... More

I stayed here for a week. Newer my bed was changed. Can sit in lobby bar for hours but no one will came. Actually lobby bar personal unfriendly and quite slow. Cleaning service personal start to knock my door 8.00 at Saturday and did it every 20 minutes! Only one good thing about hotel is reception staff! Never recommend this... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
