Nice hotel. Room seemed smallish, but everything in the city of San Francisco seems smaller and crowded. Staff were great. Conferance rooms seemed a little awkard but worked. Extremely likely to stay at this hotel in the future.

My husband and I were celebrating a special occasion during our stay at the Holiday Inn, and they really went above and beyond to make it special for us– cannot thank them enough! From the moment we walked in Mr. Baker at the front desk was warm and kind while we checked in. Our room had an AMAZING view, you... More

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. I had an early morning exam that was held in one of the conference rooms, and I figured it's just easier to stay in the same hotel. The location is fantastic! It's a short walk to great restos (separate reviews) and short rides to main tourist places. There's Starbucks almost next door... More

You didn't tell us how the exam went! I trust that you did great. Our restaurant opens at 6:30am and serves until 11pm. Room Service is limited to dinner service between 5pm and 10pm. Come back to celebrate! More

Ask for a room facing the city and not on Van Ness Avenue which is very noisy. Ditto a higher floor! Pool is small yet adequate. The rooms are tired but clean and the maid service is excellent. Breakfast in the hotel is not of the usual high standard. Cold and not much left by 10am. Location is good. Take... More

We are quite proud of our Housekeeping staff. They work exceptionally hard and do a remarkable job. They will appreciate your feedback. Additionally, I will be sure to pass along your thoughts to the kitchen and restaurant staff. Thank you. More

We went to San Francisco From March 11 to March 13 2015. At first we took the long route to the hotel but then we took a shorter easier route back to the SFO airport. I suggest take the Bart train to Embarcadero station than take the Cable car to the hotel. We arrive there around 3pm asked for a... More

Stayed in this hotel for 4 days for vacation. The staff at front desk is mostly friendly. The room was cleam and bathrooms are relatively new. Only criticism no fan in bathroom. The restaurant is satisfactory. The value for money is good. Discount for AAA or CAA members.

We appreciate your decision to spend your vacation with us. By the way, those bathroom fans are quite interesting. Instead of a loud fan in each bathroom, the air is sucked up by large fans on the roof. It's an interesting process. Thank you. More

This hotel is a pleasant surprise. Yes, it's a holiday inn with all the usual amenities, but the rooms, especially the double window corner rooms, have really exceptional views. What was really outstanding was the unflappable, helpful, front desk staff. I was there for a conference and so check in lines were long but, the staff, especially Julie, made me,... More

I was so excited to read this to Julie that I called her right away. She goes about her work in a quiet, non-assuming way, never bragging about how much she cares for her guests. Thank you. More

After reading the advice from other tripadvisor memembers, I called Holiday Inn to make sure my room would be on the Powell Street side of the hotel. This is the quiet side of the hotel. I had sleep issues over the summer. I had to go through a lot of phone tag to specifically request a 23rd level room on... More

While we cannot guarantee rooms or floors, I am certainly disappointed to hear that we could not accommodate your request. The blinds (Blackout shades) you speak of replaced the drapes during the recent renovation. We are always available to help a guest close them. Thank you for the feedback. More

The staff are very helpful and informative. Provide useful tips how to go to the fisherman's wharf, union square and Golden gate bridge. Rooms are clean with coffee machine and two bottles of water inside the fridge. There are many restaurants and super markets near by the hotel.

We are also big fans of the location. Besides the local shops, the main attractions in the city are not too far away. Thank you. More

If you like SF cable car, then this is your hotel. Located few steps away from the cable car terminal, you can practically go anywhere in the city within minutes, and yet away from the hustle bustle of the tourist spots. I asked for check in at 1pm, Front Desk gladly obliged. I opted for the breakfast deal at $15... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
