This was the first stay of our trip. We were very impressed with the location of the hotel, Very central to the shopping area and transport system. The staff were very helpful and the room was very clean and comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was fantastic and we were able to use complimentary vouchers given to us by the reception.... Although a historical building, it is well up kept and one of its many advantages is that it has parking! There is a parking fee but that is anywhere in San Francisco, however, you have in & out priveldges here. Walking distance from trolley station, shops, cable cars & restaurant. Has an amazing city life which you can hear from it's... More

Our travel agent booked this hotel for us and found us an apartment that slept four, as we were travelling with another couple. We were looking to keep our costs down due to San Francisco being known as such an expensive city. The Handlery proved to be a good option. The hotel is in a really good location and is... More

This was my first stay at the Handlery, but I have stayed in this neighborhood about 20 times over the past 25 years. Some of my colleagues have stayed here in the past, and they warned me to keep my expectations low. Frankly, you could do a lot worse in this neighborhood, because hotel prices are generally outrageous in downtown... More

The Hotel ist perfectly located in San Francisco to explore the city, the staff was very friendly and the daily grill offers a great breakfast. But the main reason to book a hotel is to sleep at night. This was impossible during our stay. At night other guest made a party in their room (including loud music), shouting on the... More

Yes, this hotel is in a fantastic location. That's why I booked it on Priceline. Had I paid the regular rack rate I would have felt cheated. The lobby entrance is very welcoming as is the staff. No complaints there, only compliments. However, I have stayed in larger rooms in NY & Chicago for less money. The room we were... More

I booked into the Handlery last minute as my original hotel was not great. The location was perfect and easy access to Union Square and the hop on hop off sightseeing buses and the trams. My room was in the new part of the building and it was a large room overlooking the pool. The room itself was clean and... More

Great location for doing touristy things - which is why we were in San Francisco. We found it easy to walk to several different places, including the Ferry Building. We stayed for three nights. Small rooms but comfortable. They did a great job holding our luggage as on our last day, our flight didn't leave until midnight and we wanted... More

This hotel is extremely well located in the centre of San Fransisco with Union Square right beside you. The hotel has an old fashioned, family run feel to it. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was a good size with a separate area with sofas which was great as we were staying in a room with... More
