Stayed here again 6 Dec - 8 years to the day had previously stayed. Still an awesome hotel. Staff are amazing, rooms are classy yet cosy. The free breakfast was great just what you need to get going. The location is perfect. Such a great base for exploring such a wonderful city. Quiet room but did have to open the... More

We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds facing the street. This was noisy over the weekend and getting a bit tired. We dined in the in-house restaurant which we thoroughly enjoyed. Location was fantastic and if we stayed again I would ask for a room not facing the street.

we stayed at this hotel in December for 4 days. The room was small but comfortable with a good mattress. There was a coffee machine in the room which was much appreciated. Breakfast was included and was on a voucher scheme. Choice of American breakfast - eggs bacon or sausage and potatoes or fruit, with coffee. Very close to the... More

Nice room in Premier Section with view of street. Convenient location for downtown shopping and dining. Have stayed in Historic section and it was smaller,. Good room service. Pleasant check in. Luckily we found a good deal thru Travelzoo during what we later were told had been SantaCon the day before.

Pro: Location, clean, quick customer service, free wifi Cons: Mattress was bad, room was incredibly hot and uncomfortable, Price: $200/night with valet parking included So the good. The location is the only reason one should realistically stay here. My wife and I stayed in a historic room with a queen bed. The room was New York small which would have... More

The location is excellent. 50m to Union Square. A short walk to the cable car. A short walk to the BART. A short walk to all major shops. Hotel was neat and clean. A little strange seeing the ocassional small dog but they didn't bother us.

My husband and I spent four nights at the hotel. We found the location excellent. While the rooms weren't large enough to accommodate a easy chair they were more than adequate. It is a older hotel but in very good condition. We had a package deal which has included breakfast next door at the Daily Grill. Great way to start... More

I recently stayed at the Handlery in Union Square. I was on business and there was a conference in town so the rates were crazy - I paid 489$ a night and stayed in the "Historic Building" The room was very big but everything inside worn down and the room had a terrible stale smell. The couches were so run... More
