We stayed at the hotel for 5 days when touring the area. The concierge team was outstanding with the ladies efficient, unflappable and very knowledgeable of the local scene. The hotel lived up to its billing and was efficiency personified. The experience was spoilt a touch by a grumpy senior citizen (bespectacled) who was controlling valet and bell boy services.... More

Their renovation is a retro 1980 look. Even the stereo could not be used with our iPhones and reminded us of our old stereo system in the 90's; at least the CD player worked! The room space is a bit cramped for 3, thought the bathroom is generously appointed. The hotel has a great location to quickly access Chinatown, the... More

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt for 5 nights while attending a conference and couldn't have been more pleased. The location is excellent. Right in the middle of the Union Square shopping district, walking distance to Chinatown, Market st, and the Bay. Rooms are well appointed and very clean. Housekeeping staff was friendly and excellent. The only complaint I have... More

Location can't be beat. To the south you have union square, to the west is Chinatown. It's so near both places but far enough not to be noisy. Due to jet lag, my 9yr old son sleeps until 12nn. And the hotel is quiet and has black out drapes. Room is spacious and very clean. King bed is big enough... More

Excellent location being barely a block away from the center of Union Square. The hotel is otherwise quite average and the premium you pay is for its location rather than the rooms. Rooms are decent but could be a bit more spacious, bathroom quite standard, generally not much surprises.

Ok. Check in can be a little annoying. They seem to move a bit slow, but after that everything was great. DO NOT try to check in before 3:00 pm, the room will not be available. This place is busy, especially on the weekends. We checked in on a Monday afternoon, not a problem. We were on the 14th floor,... More

Check-in: We arrived on Sunday, after an early flight from the East Coast, delayed at a stop over, then getting off at the wrong Bart Station, walked the wrong direction for 3 blocks, passing through some not so safe looking area, before we found our way to the hotel. Needless to say, we were exhausted by the time we arrived... More

This is an update to a previous positive review for the property. On my recent stay, I checked in on a Saturday. I asked for a quiet room and the front desk person seemed unfamiliar with the property because they put me on the 10th floor, facing Union Square and with my front door less than 2 feet from 3... Really enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt in SF. Excellent location, very close to Union Square and plenty of shopping choices. Speedy check in and check out and housekeeping responded quickly to a couple of requests. Rooms were spacious and very modern and well appointed. We had a room on 5th floor and had a bit of street noise occasionally... More

I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt on Stockton and was very pleased with the new renovation and upgrade in general. I particularly like this location because I an find everything I need and walk everywhere. But I am most impressed with the concierge desk. Elaine is my favorite go to person whenever I am in town but John, Annie... More
