I am usually very picky about where my family stays and being right next to Union Square was a little busy for us, but Galleria Park is the perfect little hotel to stay in. My family LOVED it !! Rooms were small but very comfy, we stayed in double bed rooms. The location is even better, restaurants and coffee shops... More

I stayed in this hotel in the 80's. At that time, I loved the location, seedy ambiance and comfortable well priced bed. Boy, what a difference 20 years makes. Lovely decor Excellent service Same great location This is a classic SF hotel with clean interior and some subtle but very nice architectural features...like a giant light well and a modern... More

My family stayed here for a quick overnight on our way to Seattle. The rooms are much smaller than we expected, but they are comfortable. It was very clean and the lobby is beautiful with a nice, big fireplace and VERY friendly staff. I stayed in a suite that ended up being a room with a kind bed and bath... More

The Galleria Park Hotel is perfectly located in the city center just a few steps away from Union Square, the trolley and cable cars, as well as the BART train to the airport. Even the Embarcadero is a pleasant stroll away, and Grant Street and China Town is also just a few short blocks from the hotel. The hotel is... More

My husband and I really liked this hotel. We had a quiet room and had a great 4 nights sleep. Helpful staff pointed us in the right direction for all our questions. There is a rooftop garden where you can drink either your complimentary morning coffee or glass of wine (5:30-6:30 daily). Perfect location a short distance from Montgomery BART.... More

The location on Sutter is brilliant. A few mins walk from Union Square. The bedroom was not huge but well appointed, but with a slightly stuffy/dank smell. (I now wish we'd complained and asked for a move.)The bathroom was excellent and the TV a good size. We appreciated the free wifi (don't be distracted by the leaflet about paying $8... More

I read all the trip advisor reviews prior to booking, and agree that rooms are smallish, and bathrooms are a 'one at a time' size. Toiletries lovley. Taking that into account we booked for a 5 day stay and were so happy with our choice. Clean, really comfy bed, fantastic location in between Union square and China town, transport easy,... More

This hotel is shooting for a boutique feel but it seem too big and rooms are too stuffy to achieve that status. The room looked clean but had a bit of an overall dingy feel to it, likely just due to the really dark carpet. The lobby, on the other hand, is very lovely! We opted for the street view... More

Very nice ambiance and location though be aware that some of the rooms are extremely noisy during the day as they are next to the laundry chute which is utilized frequently as linens are sent down the chute by the maids. Made note of this to the hotel when I finally found out what the thunder like random sounds were... More

Stay at this hotel for 7 days. Pros: - good location - friendly staff - nice bathroom Cons: - small room - bad view through window - environment is old - small bed In general i would not recommend this hotel especially if you gonna stay longer than 3-4 days.

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
